  • Patent number: 8529689
Abstract: Provided are cementitious compositions and related systems and methods. The cementitious compositions, or admixtures, according to the present invention generally comprise gypsum, a first alkaline component and glass. The admixture may further comprise fly ash, which is preferably obtained as a waste by-product from a coal-burning power plant. A method according to the present invention comprises an initial step of analyzing or receiving an analysis of a fly ash sample. Based at least in part on the analysis of the fly ash sample, a mix rate may be selected and an initial admixture can be formulated, which, when added to the fly ash sample, creates an alternative or additive to Portland cement for use in concrete, for example.

  • Patent number: 8524300
Abstract: A covered retracted confectionery including a housing with covers hinged adjacent the top for movement between closed and open positions. The lower part of each of the covers being contacted by a part of a shaft moveable in the housing between a retracted position and an extended position with respect to the housing to keep the covers closed against the force of gravity. A confectionery carried adjacent the top of the shaft is enclosed by the covers until they are manually moved to the open position by operation of an actuator slideably mounted on the exterior of the housing against a bias. Upon release of the actuator, the bias will automatically retract the shaft and confectionery as well as close the covers.

  • Publication number: 20050106290
Abstract: A novelty confectionary device with a tubular casing having an upper end and a lower end. Carried in the casing are a number of stacked, individually consumable candy modules, each including a piece of candy mounted on a base. The candy of the uppermost module extends through the top of the tube for consumption. After the candy is consumed, the base is removed, and is then reinserted through the bottom of the tube to advance the candy of the next module through the top of the tube. The base, which may include an anchoring post for the candy, is of a size and configuration such that it does not fit entirely into a standard choke tube gauge for children under the age of three. A clear plastic cap fits over the candy for minimizing contamination prior to consumption.
