  • Publication number: 20240100324
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a device capable of high efficiency DNA electrotransfer into cells via a single capacitive discharge. The principle of this system relates to the storage of a quantum of charge on a capacitor which is then discharged through an electrode array configured to produce an electric field having electric field potential gradients focused through a region by the array configuration and of sufficient in strength for efficient electrotransfer of DNA into cells. This DNA, or related ribonucleic acid molecules or indeed other charged molecules, upon entering the cells, can affect changes in biological function.

  • Publication number: 20230224308
Abstract: Systems and methods for authenticating a request to initiate an electronic transaction and systems and encrypting data relating to executed electronic transactions are provided. Such systems and methods include receiving an electronic request signal, retrieving verified data associated with a user account, extracting verification data, and comparing the verification data against the verified data to authenticate the electronic request signal. Furthermore, when the electronic request signal is determined as authentic, such systems and methods include executing the secured electronic transaction, digitally encrypting transaction data using a digital text string, and registering the transaction data as encrypted with one or more databases.

  • Patent number: 11470093
Abstract: Systems and methods for authenticating a request to initiate an electronic transaction and systems and encrypting data relating to executed electronic transactions are provided. Such systems and methods include receiving an electronic request signal, retrieving verified data associated with a user account, extracting verification data, and comparing the verification data against the verified data to determine whether the electronic request signal is authentic or fraudulent. Furthermore, when the electronic request signal is determined as authentic, such systems and methods include executing the secured electronic transaction, converting a digital image into a digital text string, cryptographically hashing the digital text string to output a secret key, digitally encrypting transaction data using the secret key, and registering the transaction data as encrypted with one or more databases.

  • Publication number: 20080050574
Abstract: Polyurethane foams formed under vacuum (below atmospheric pressure) conditions using primarily graft polyether polyols reacted with primarily toluene diisocyanate have lower densities (up to 1.3 lb/ft3), lower hardness (IFD25 up to 50 lbs), and exhibit superb thermoformability and fire retardance while retaining good sound insulating characteristics. The foam-forming ingredients are mixed together and foamed under controlled pressures in the range 0.5 to 0.95 bar (absolute). Such foams taken alone, or in combination with a barrier layer to form a laminate, are thermoformed to create a sound insulator for a motor vehicle instrument panel.

  • Publication number: 20060174996
Abstract: A method and apparatus for detecting exposed and partially separated metal cords 17 in a cut end of a metallic cord reinforced strip 17 includes the steps of conveying and cutting the strip 17 and separating the cut ends and passing the conveyed cut strip 17 past a sensor means 40 for detecting any exposed partially separated metal cords or filaments. The preferred sensor means 40 includes a pair of closely spaced electrically conductive rollers 41, 42, a power source connected to one of the other rollers 41 or 42. When an exposed wire 26 touches both rollers 41 and 42 a circuit is closed giving indication of an exposed wire cord condition.

  • Publication number: 20050110633
Abstract: An apparatus for detecting and indicating the presence of combustion products comprising a first combustion product monitor for monitoring for the presence of a first combustion product and quantifying said first product; a second combustion product monitor for monitoring for the presence of a second combustion product and quantifying said second product; and, an alarm connected to the first and second combustion product monitors for triggering an alarm when an alarm condition is satisfied, said alarm condition being at least one of the group consisting of the quantified presence of the first combustion product exceeding a first-product threshold level and the quantified presence of the second combustion product exceeding a first second-product threshold level; and, the quantified presence of the second combustion product exceeding a second second-product threshold level.

  • Patent number: 6654597
Abstract: A radio includes a receiver circuit, a microprocessor, an input/output (I/O) port, at least one switch for configuring the I/O port, an audio amplifier coupled to the receiver circuit and to the I/O port, an audio frequency transducer coupled to the I/O port, and a power supply coupled to the I/O port, the receiver, the microprocessor, the at least one switch, and the audio amplifier. The at least one switch is coupled to the microprocessor. The audio frequency transducer is selectively coupled to the audio amplifier through the I/O port and the power supply is selectively coupled to the I/O port to permit activation of the audio frequency transducer by a signal coupled from the audio amplifier through the I/O port and to provide access to the power supply through the I/O port.
