  • Publication number: 20240149655
Abstract: A structural assembly for a battery structure includes a lower wall and a pair of cross members. The lower wall is configured to support a cell stack. The cross members are spaced apart from each other in a longitudinal direction of a vehicle. Each cross member supports a respective side of the cell stack and is configured to extend substantially an entire width of the battery structure. Each cross member includes an outer wall, an inner wall, and connecting members that connect the outer wall to the inner wall. The outer wall, the inner wall, and the connecting members cooperate to define an internal cavity. The inner walls of the cross members are secured to the lower wall to form a unitized structure that houses the cell stack.

Abstract: A structural assembly for a battery structure of a vehicle includes a lower wall and a pair of cross members. The lower wall is configured to support a cell stack. The pair of cross members are spaced apart from each other in a longitudinal direction of the vehicle. Each cross member provides lateral support for a respective side of the cell stack and is configured to extend substantially an entire width of a battery enclosure. Each cross member of the pair of cross members includes an outer wall, an inner wall spaced apart from the outer wall, and connecting members. The outer wall, the inner wall, and connecting members cooperate with each other to define an internal cavity. The inner walls of the pair of cross members are secured to the lower wall and slidable relative to the outer walls of the pair of cross members.

  • Publication number: 20240149706
Abstract: A structural assembly for a battery structure includes a first shell, a second shell and a cold plate. The first shell includes a first cross member portion providing lateral support for a respective side of a cell stack. The second shell is secured to the first shell to define a unitized structure that houses the cell stack. The second shell includes a second cross member portion providing lateral support for a respective side of the cell stack and is spaced apart along a longitudinal direction of the vehicle relative to the first cross member portion. The cold plate is housed within the unitized structure. Each of the first and second cross member portions includes an outer wall, an inner wall spaced apart from the outer wall, and connecting members that connect the outer wall to the inner wall.

  • Patent number: 11821500
Abstract: Methods, systems, and techniques for harnessing wind energy use a tethered airfoil and a digital hydraulic pump and motor, which may optionally be a combined pump/motor. During a traction phase, a wind powered airfoil is allowed to extend a tether and a portion of the wind energy harnessed through extension of the tether is stored prior to distributing the wind energy to an electrical service. During a retraction phase, the wind energy that is stored during the traction phase is used to retract the tether. The digital hydraulic pump and motor are mechanically coupled to the tether.

  • Publication number: 20230247428
Abstract: A method is provided for evaluating the usage of a mobile communications device that itself provides access to a resource. In the method, a detected usage of the mobile communications device is compared to a stored usage pattern of an authorized user. When a measure associated with the difference between the detected usage and the stored usage pattern exceeds a threshold, it is concluded that the mobile communications device is being used by an unauthorized user. In response to this conclusion, a restriction is placed on an ability of the mobile communications device to access the resource.

  • Patent number: 11629927
Abstract: A recoil assembly for a rifle includes a barrel assembly, a bolt, bolt actuator, and a buffer assembly. The barrel assembly includes a barrel secured to a barrel extension. The barrel assembly is configured to be movably received through the fore end of a receiver and to move axially relative to the upper receiver when the rifle is fired. The barrel extension is coupled to a hydraulic buffer assembly located below the barrel extension and counteracts recoil forces acting on the barrel extension when the rifle is fired. An op-rod spring is coupled to an op rod extending from a gas piston assembly on the barrel. The op-rod spring counteracts recoil forces acting the bolt actuator when the rifle is fired.

  • Publication number: 20220253869
Abstract: Systems, methods, and techniques are disclosed whereby locational marginal emission rates may be determined for each location (or node) of an electric power generation and distribution system using Real-Time Market data provided by a power system market operator, along with marginal offer estimate data and generator emission data. Noisy and incomplete input data can be appropriately handled to allow use of Real-Time Market data. The effect of congestion (violated constraints) can also be removed.

  • Publication number: 20210240848
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for managing personal data on a client computer in which personal data stored at one or more locations on the client computer is identified by a policy management module on the computer or a server. A policy is then created based on the identified personal data. The policy management module monitors at least the personal data stored in the one or more locations and detects attempts to access the monitored data and determines whether the attempts are in violation of the policy.
