Abstract: A method comprising drilling a wellbore into a subterranean formation; providing a drilling fluid comprising an aqueous base fluid and a property control package, the property control package comprising: a stabilizing agent; a filtration control agent; and a suspension enhancer; introducing the drilling fluid into the wellbore in the subterranean formation; and continuously circulating the drilling fluid during the drilling of the wellbore.

Abstract: Improved methods and systems for treating wastewaters produced in mining and/or subterranean well bore operations are provided. In one embodiment, the systems comprise: an electro-coagulation unit that receives wastewater from a wastewater source, performs an electro-coagulation treatment on the wastewater using one or more EC cells, and produces a first fluid stream that comprises one or more solid materials and a liquid effluent; a solids separation unit coupled downstream of and in fluid communication with the electro-coagulation unit that separates at least a portion of the solid materials in the first fluid stream from the liquid effluent; and a filter comprising a metal-bearing filtration media coupled downstream of and in fluid communication with the solids separation unit that filters the liquid effluent from the solids separation unit to produce a treated water stream.

Abstract: A flocculation and dewatering system may include a solid-liquid sorter; a flocculation chamber including a flocculation trough that comprises at least one baffle; an injection port for introducing a flocculant; and an outlet for removing a flocculated fluid; a dewatering rack in which the outlet introduces the flocculated fluid into the dewatering rack that comprises at least one filtration collection bag; a filter press; and a pump for pumping fluids in a conduit network running at least partially through the flocculation and dewatering system.

Abstract: A method may include providing a returned fluid comprising a fluid; and a solid contaminant; introducing the returned fluid into a solid-liquid sorter thereby separating the returned fluid into an overflow and underflow; flocculating the underflow in a flocculating chamber thereby forming a flocculated fluid; and dewatering the flocculated fluid using a dewatering rack.
