  • Publication number: 20240091912
Abstract: An improved sprinkler head removal tool for use in removing sprinkler heads from cans positioned in the ground. The sprinkler heads have a series of indentations positioned around the head of the sprinkler. The improved sprinkler head removal tool has a U-shaped head that is configured to span across the head such that the opposing arms or prongs of the U-shape are positioned in opposing depressions. The U-shaped head is connected to a handle, which a user grasps and rotates. The U-shaped head is preferably configured to thread onto the handle of a plastic pipe nipple extractor or other sprinkler head tool.

  • Publication number: 20210355702
Abstract: The invention herein relates to a headstone support. The headstone support has a base and a socket. The headstone socket is configured to receive the headstone in a tight fit so as to reduce movement and/or shifting of the headstone. The headstone socket can have at least four corners. The corners are connected by sidewalls. The sidewalls may be complete sidewalls or partial sidewalls. The base of the headstone support has flanges that extend outward from the sidewalls. The base is configured to disperse the weight of the headstone. The base may attach directly to or rest on a vault or may be placed on compacted ground. The headstone support may have openings configured for drainage. The openings may be positioned inside the socket. Alternatively, the openings may be positioned on the sidewalls.

  • Patent number: 10672297
Abstract: Simulators for practicing trans-oral surgery and methods of use thereof, are described. The simulator may include a simulated soft palate musculature adjacent to the simulated hard palate, and a simulated mucosal layer covering at least a portion of the simulated hard palate and at least a portion of the simulated soft palate musculature, wherein the simulated mucosal layer is configured to conform to and follow the contours of surface features of the covered portions of the simulated hard palate and simulated soft palate musculature.

  • Patent number: 6167449
Abstract: A computer-implemented method and apparatus for identifying and locating computer network services. The invention gives an application the ability to search for network services in a manner independent of the network communication protocol used by the network. The invention can thus operate as a layer of abstraction between the Transport and Network Layers and the Application Layer of the Open Systems Interconnect (OSI) Reference Model of network architecture and suite of protocols. The invention gives the client application the ability to browse for network services based on the type of service (such as remote file access, mail, Web, domain name registration, etc.), rather than having to know the name or location of the service or the underlying network communication protocol used by the service.

  • Patent number: 6039458
Abstract: Systems for housing and supporting, then either deploying or storing, light strings comprising stringing a light within a connectible series of hollow rigid or semi-rigid sub-sleeves that are essentially transparent or translucent, said sub-sleeves having sufficient rigidity to support and protect said light string when attached at points to a support structure while having sufficient flexibility to permit cornering and angular positioning as desired.

  • Patent number: 5920488
Abstract: A system for maintaining a desired air flow through a fume hood having a sash. The system comprises a mechanism for controlling air flow through the fume hood based on at least one gain. The system is also comprised of a mechanism for automatically tuning the gain connected to the controlling mechanism. Additionally, the system is comprised of a mechanism for manually inputting information to the tuning mechanism so the tuning mechanism automatically provides a desired gain to the controlling mechanism based on information received from the input mechanism. Additionally, the present invention pertains to a qualitative tuning system for a processor. The present invention also pertains to a method for controlling air flow through a fume hood with a sash. The method comprises the steps of providing information concerning flow of air through the fume hood to a processor. Then, there is the step of manually inputting information concerning gain into a qualitative tuning system connected to the processor.

  • Patent number: 5764579
Abstract: A system for controlling laboratories having fume hoods comprising a network along which information is carried. The system is also comprised of a controller in contact with the network for receiving information from and providing information to the network. Additionally, the system is comprised of means for sensing a laboratory's state. The sensing means is disposed in each laboratory. There is additionally a microprocessor disposed in each laboratory for receiving information concerning the laboratory from the respective sensing means and the controller in order to maintain the laboratory in a predetermined state, and to provide information about the laboratory to the controller.
