  • Patent number: 6863808
Abstract: A water softener system including a hard water flow pipe through which hard water flows, a modular water softener assembly, and a regeneration tank is provided. The modular water softener assembly includes an elongated tube having a first end, a second end, a length extending therebetween, and a predetermined inner volume for storing an amount of water softening particles. The water softener assembly also includes a first end cap coupled to the tube at the first end having a first port in flow communication with the hard water flow pipe and a second port in flow communication with an outlet pipe through which soft water flows. The water softener assembly is supported by the hard water flow pipe and the outlet pipe. The regeneration tank contains a regenerate for regenerating the water softening particles and is in flow communication with the water softener assembly.

  • Patent number: 4855923
Abstract: A method of assembling parts in which, before actual assembly of the parts, the forces associated with a good assembly of parts and the forces associated with a faulty assembly of parts are identified to train a pattern of recognition signature analysis system. During assembly, the forces required to actually assemble the parts are measured and a determination is made by the system as to whether these forces are associated with a good assembly or a faulty assembly to determine if the assembled part should be accepted or rejected.

  • Patent number: 4639996
Abstract: An apparatus in which a threaded fastener is automatically attached to an article. The apparatus positions the threaded fastener in contact with the article and applies a torque thereon. A signal is generated indicating the torque level. The signal is compared to preset limits. Different preset torque limits are set for tapping threads in a hole in the article and securing the fastener thereto.
