  • Patent number: 6987480
Abstract: An audio communications control system operates between multiple voice communications systems and a single headset worn by an operator accessing the multiple communications systems via voice transmission. The single headset includes a left speaker, a right speaker, and a microphone. The audio interface provides an electrical connection and operation with each of the voice communications systems, even though each may operate with differing equipment and signal processing. The audio interface switches discrete voice communications signals and routes them to one of the left speaker, the right speaker, and conversely from the microphone of the headset to any of selected systems.

  • Patent number: 6559867
Abstract: A training system includes software installable on an instructor's computer for configuring a plurality of workstations networked thereto. The software is adapted to copy and install an indicated training module including a particular instruction functionality onto a selected student workstation. Once all the workstations are configured as desired, the instructor can invoke additional components of the system, including initiating a running of a training scenario from the instructor's computer on selected workstations. The training scenario includes input provided to the training module, to which a trainee responds, and the instructor can assess the response. A particular embodiment of the invention is for use in an environment wherein coordinated effort by a plurality of workers is required. Such environments may include, but are not intended to be limited to, a command center of a military location.

  • Patent number: 4932880
Abstract: An interactive and programmable tone generator with scenarios is disclosed nd described as a training device. Sounds are recorded as they are heard in their actual environment. The recording then can be combined with a coded track that triggers a graphics demonstration previously prepared from notations taken during the recordings that describe the actual environment that corresponds to the respective sound. Also, selections can be taken from the recording that present a best example of a sound to be learned, looped for repetition, and then rerecorded digitally onto micro-floppy diskettes. When played-back the diskettes provide challenging interactive training for the novice and expert alike in a variety of available modes using both computer generated graphics and sounds reconverted from digital storage.
