  • Publication number: 20180071725
Abstract: The invention relates to oligomerization of olefins, such as ethylene, to higher olefins, such as a mixture of 1-hexene and 1-octene, using a catalyst system that comprises a) a source of chromium b) one or more activators and c) a phosphacycle-containing ligating compound. Additionally, the invention relates to a phosphacycle-containing ligating compound and a process for making said compound.

  • Publication number: 20180002464
Abstract: The instant invention provides a polyolefin composition and method of producing the same. The olefin polymerization process according to the present invention comprises contacting one or more olefinic monomers with a biphenylphenolic polymerization catalyst under polymerization conditions and in the presence of one or more treated aluminum-based scavengers in a polymerization reactor, wherein said one or more treated aluminum-based scavengers comprise the reaction product of an alkylaluminum or an aluminoxane specie with a compound of the general Formula (I): wherein X is O, N, or S and R is alkyl, aryl, heteroalkyl, heteroaryl, or hydrogen, wherein n=1 if X is O or S and n=1 if X is N, and wherein at least one R is not a hydrogen; Rn—X—H (I); thereby producing a polyolefin composition which comprises less than 50% of the oligomer level of a polyolefin composition produced in an olefin polymerization process in the presence of said one or more untreated aluminum-based scavengers.

  • Publication number: 20170369609
Abstract: A first ethylene-based interpolymer comprising, in polymerized form, monomer units derived from ethylene and from a benzocyclobutene (VBCB) structure of Structure 1; wherein n is from 3 to 10; and wherein the ethylene-based polymer comprises, in polymerized form, from 0.02 to 0.70 wt % of the Structure 1, based on the weight of the first ethylene-based interpolymer, as determined by 1H NMR is provided. Further provided is a composition which comprises a second ethylene-based inter-polymer formed by thermally treating a first ethylene-based interpolymer.
