  • Publication number: 20130269735
Abstract: A method and apparatus is disclosed for treating and processing an oil, water or oil and water-contaminated substrate such as oil field waste. The substrate may be pretreated with water and/or surfactant and may be mixed under low shear conditions with a base such as a compound containing alkaline earth or lime and an optional catalyst. Mixing the substrate with the base creates a heat. Next, the substrate may be mixed with an acid such as sulfuric acid. As the substrate is mixed, it causes an exothermic reaction with a heat that vaporizes the oil, reaction products and water. Recoverable constituents in the vapor can be condensed in a vapor collection system. The treated substrate may be essentially free of oil and has a controlled water content and pH that can be adjusted according to the use of the end dry product.

  • Patent number: 7798663
Abstract: A domestic device that serves as both a night-light and an incense burner. The device has a base with a shelf circumferentially surrounding the base. The shelf includes both a number of incense stick holders and a number of incense cone supports. A light is located within the base, with the light being powered by standard household current and controlled by an on/off switch attached to the base. A conically-shaped cover is placed over the base, with the cover having a series of vent holes to allow dispersion of both light and heat from the electric light and emitted scent from any incense located on the base.

  • Patent number: 6832744
Abstract: A visual signalling device, by which to signal for service, includes an elongated cradle with upper and lower ends, the upper end standing on legs to thereby incline the cradle at a tilt angle. The cradle includes a bottom, sidewalls, and a lower endwall. The legs are tapered from top to bottom. The bottom of the cradle is apertured at the tops of the legs to permit stacking of these devices atop on another. The tilt angle is in the range of 25° to 65° from vertical, preferably about 50°. The sidewalls include one or more notch receptacles for money. The device is thus adapted to hold a container such, as an empty beer bottle, at a tilt angle as a visual signal for service.
