  • Publication number: 20160014085
Abstract: Data communications systems and methods comprise a conductive media infrastructure in communication with a plurality of data universes including at least one baseband data universe and at least one broadband data universe. Exemplary embodiments include a coupling device coupling the baseband data universe and the broadband data universe to the conductive media infrastructure which includes a plurality of nodes. The coupling device provides a baseband construction mode in which the coupling device may generate baseband data signals onto the conductive media infrastructure and may induce the broadband data signals onto the conductive media infrastructure. In baseband construction mode there is a limited perspective in which one or more nodes are inhibited from receiving a strategically segmented subset of secure data signals and a strategic perspective in which one or more nodes receive the strategically segmented subset of secure data signals over a period of time.

  • Publication number: 20150180686
Abstract: Data communication devices, systems, and methods of communicating multiple data protocols over a conductive media infrastructure comprise partitioning at least one broadband data universe from at least one baseband data universe such that each data universe is independently isolated in operation and functionality from every other data universe. A filter allows multiple information types to travel via the plurality of data universes. Baseband data signals include serial data traveling via the at least one baseband data universe, and broadband data signals include intended signal intelligence traveling via the at least one broadband data universe. The baseband and broadband data signals travel independently on the conductive media infrastructure. Wave shapes are managed to avoid harmonics that may encroach upon unintended data universes and retain signal integrity.

  • Patent number: 8923339
Abstract: Data communications systems and methods comprise a conductive media infrastructure in communication with a baseband data universe propagating at least one first signal and a broadband data universe propagating at least one second signal. At least one segmentation device is in communication with the conductive media infrastructure and partitions the broadband data universe from the baseband data universe. A coupling device is in communication with the at least one segmentation device and modulates transmission parameters of the second signal such that information travels within the broadband data universe via the conductive media infrastructure and avoids the baseband data universe. Power distribution and management systems and methods are also provided which preserve power distribution via a baseband data universe while one or more devices communicate energy data via a broadband data universe.

  • Patent number: 7167081
Abstract: This invention allows the communication of mission critical data to devices that communicate within the same, or a separately connected, power distribution system. Devices operate by being connected to a power distribution system, subsystem, and or different but connected power system. Each device has a specific similar or different communication platform, architecture, protocol method and or process for performing a function and or distributing data. The invention allows all devices connected through the power system to communicate to one, some or all other devices as wanted; regardless of the type of architecture, protocol, platform, or type of power on the power system. Power systems can be connected by power or communication and can be separate. All powered devices utilizing the invention seamlessly operate, communicate and network for their specified reason(s) in their native formats without any needs of communication wiring using the power distribution system as the medium of communication.

  • Patent number: 5384023
Abstract: An improved liquid/liquid solvent extraction method and apparatus utilizes an external electrode for creating an electric field within an extraction cell to shatter aqueous sample droplets flowing within a non-conductive solvent. The external electrode is in intimate contact with the exterior surface of the insulative cell wall so as to preclude direct electrical contact between the electrode and the internal liquids. A sample interface detector permits the interface between the two liquids to be detected when the liquids sequentially flow out from the cell, thereby facilitating separate collection of the liquid. Interface detection is achieved by coupling electrical pulses into the flowing liquid to cause ionization charge/discharge cycles in the conductive aqueous sample but not in the non-conductive solvent. Downstream detection of the charge/discharge cycle in the liquid identifies the interface.
