Abstract: An apparatus that provides for the measurement of a person's weight via a portable remote readout located at eye-level. The weight measuring device comprises a low profile mat with weight sensors that are activated whenever someone steps on the mat. The sensors communicate a sensor weight signal to a transmitter, which in turn communicates the weight signal to a receiver preferably located at eye-level and provided with a variety of mounting means. A preferred embodiment provides for a magnet which enables mounting of the receiver on a refrigerator door. Such a location is envisioned to provide an incentive for those trying to lose weight, by providing one's current weight on the refrigerator door to avoid any unnecessary snacks.
