  • Patent number: 11256135
Abstract: A display system includes a backlight configured to project light including a housing and one or more light emitting elements received in the housing and one or more reflective portions disposed on the housing. A first display unit is disposed proximate the backlight includes a liquid crystal layer and at least one reflective polarizer. A second display unit is disposed proximate the first display unit. The second display unit includes a TFT display layer and at least one linear polarizer. At least one microcontroller is in communication with one or more of the backlight, the first display unit and the second display unit. The at least one microcontroller executes instructions to adjust the liquid crystal layer of the first display unit between a first transmissive state and a second transmissive state.

  • Publication number: 20190287467
Abstract: A method for controlling a display arrangement controls the quality of representation of information on the display and heating of the display. In the event of a maximum permitted temperature being reached or exceeded in an area of the display, a light source is reduced in brightness or is switched off in the affected area. An adaptation of a content item to be represented on the display of the display arrangement is made to those areas in which no reduction in the brightness and/or no switching-off of the associated light source take place.

  • Patent number: 7479020
Abstract: An electronic control module for electrical components of a vehicle. The electronic control module has an internal electrical ground. The module comprises a housing having an open end and a side wall extending from the open end. The side wall has a slot formed along the side wall. The module further comprises a printed circuit board disposed within the slot. The printed circuit board has a solder pattern disposed thereon, wherein at least a portion of the solder pattern is adjacent the open end and aligned with the slot. The module further comprises an end plate attached to the open end of the housing to enclose the printed circuit board therein. The end plate has an aperture being aligned with the slot of the housing. The module further comprises an attachment member disposed through the aperture in the slot. The attachment member is in contact with the portion of the solder pattern and with the side wall to provide an electrical ground for the printed circuit board.
