Abstract: This disclosure describes embodiments of an apparatus which will be called a bolt hold open, fire selector and safety. This apparatus is for ambidextrously holding open the bolt of a Kalashnikov style firearm; for ambidextrously selecting whether the Kalashnikov style firearm will fire multiple rounds or a single round each time the user pulls and holds down the trigger on the firearm when the firearm contains an auto sear mounting pin; for ambidextrously selecting whether the Kalashnikov style firearm will fire a single round each time the user pulls and holds down the trigger on the firearm when the firearm does not contain an auto sear mounting pin; and for ambidextrously selecting whether the Kalashnikov style firearm will fire when the user pulls the trigger on the firearm.
