  • Publication number: 20240138684
Abstract: A method for determining material properties of a plurality of tissues in a subject includes receiving a first sequence of cardiovascular images of a region of interest of the subject and a first set of pressure data associated with the first sequence of cardiovascular images and receiving a second sequence of cardiovascular images of the region of interest of the subject and a second set of pressure data associated with the second sequence of cardiovascular images. The method can further include transforming, using a processor, the first sequence of cardiovascular images to a first three-dimensional (3D) finite element (FE) mesh with heterogeneous material distribution, transforming, using the processor, the second sequence of cardiovascular images to a second 3D FE mesh with heterogeneous material distribution, and performing, using the processor, an iterative optimization process on the first and second 3D FE meshes to determine one or more material properties of at least one of the plurality of tissues.

  • Publication number: 20220110530
Abstract: Aspects described herein estimate the pressure difference across a hollow region arising from fluid flow within the hollow region, based on an imaged fluid flow. The method utilises a complete description of fluid mechanical behaviour to derive an estimate of relative pressure or pressure difference over arbitrary flow segments. The method uses the concept of a virtual or arbitrary velocity field in the analysis of the work-energy of the fluid flow. Furthermore, the method uses statistical analysis to derive the acquired flow as a mean field and a related covariance quantity and uses this statistical description in the evaluation of virtual work-energy of the fluid flow. This assessment of virtual work-energy of the fluid flow is then used to derive an estimate of the pressure difference across any two given points (relative pressure) in the hollow region.
