Abstract: A method for operating a microscopy system includes irradiating a region segment of a first region by a light source with light at a first wavelength ?1 and a first luminous intensity L1, determining a substance-specific parameter within the region segment as a response to being irradiated by the light source, and repeating the steps for all region segments within the first region. In addition, the disclosure relates to a microscopy system, and a calibration method for a microscopy system.

Abstract: A system for creation of stereoscopic 3D images, including a disparity map initializer, for deriving one or more initial disparity maps represented as vector fields of translations between aligned left and right images of a scene, a disparity map generator, coupled with the disparity map initializer, for deriving disparity maps for the aligned left and right images, from the initial disparity maps, and a view renderer, coupled with the disparity map generator, for rendering stereoscopic 3D images, from the aligned left and right images, and from the disparity maps. A method for creating stereoscopic 3D images is also described and claimed.

Abstract: A method of improving the useful life of a sign or display is provided. In this method, a sign or display comprising two images and an intervening opaque layer is provided. When the quality of the first of the images to be shown has degraded to an unacceptable degree, the sign or display is reversed to show the second image, which has been at least partially protected from environmental degradation by the intervening opaque layer.

Abstract: This invention pertains to an inkjet printing method, more particularly to a method of printing wherein a print interruption occurs in the middle of a job. The inventive method avoids image banding defects that could otherwise occur as a result of print interruption.
