  • Patent number: 11925913
Abstract: An automated apparatus for preparing a liquid bioprocess solution includes at least one mixing chamber having a lower port and an upper port for fluid to enter the at least one mixing chamber, an array of tubing for fluid flow within the system, a plurality of valves provided within the tubing, and a mixing controller configured to cause the automated apparatus to perform a series of sequential mixing steps causing the preparation of the liquid bioprocess solution from a dry ingredient. The series of sequential mixing steps include opening a first valve associated with the lower port to provide fluid to the at least one mixing chamber through the lower port, and after a predetermined amount of elapsed time, closing the first valve and opening a second valve associated with the upper port to provide fluid to the at least one mixing chamber through the upper port.

  • Publication number: 20210030783
Abstract: Provided are compositions and methods for treating cancer using administration of certain volumes of CpG oligonucleotides (CpG ODN) and, optionally, administration of a checkpoint inhibitor such as an anti-PD-1 antibody, an anti-PD-L1 antibody, and/or an anti-CTLA-4 antibody. In preferred embodiments, the CpG ODN are selected based on their propensity to induce high amounts of interferon alpha (IFN-a) and T-cell activation relative to interleukin-10 (IL-10) and B-cell activation. In certain embodiments, the methods further include pretreatment with radiotherapy, to potentiate the combination immunotherapy.

  • Patent number: 9021044
Abstract: A system for monitoring or controlling conditions or apparatuses in a home, business or other suitable place is provided. The system includes a first master module that is operative to communicate with a device over an Internet network. The system further includes a server that is operatively connected to the device and the first master module. The server is operative to allow communication between the first master module and the device. The system also includes a first slave module operatively connected to the first master module. The first master module is operative to direct data between the first slave module and the server. The first slave module is operative to establish communication with the first master module through a plug and play connection. The device is operative to allow at least one of controlling and monitoring the first slave module through the server and the first master module.

  • Patent number: 5576043
Abstract: The shortening substitute contains a mixture of 1-10% by weight pregelatinized, unmodified starch; 5-15% by weight pregelatinized, modified high amylopectin starch; 5-10% by weight emulsifier; 5-25% by weight shortening; and a remainder of water. The modified, high amylopectin starch is either a crosslinked, hydroxypropylated starch or a crosslinked, esterified starch, both of which have an amylopectin content of 95% or more. Plasticizer in an amount of 0.1-1% by weight and a maltodextrin in an amount of 1-20% by weight can be incorporated into the mixture. The shortening substitute can be used as a replacement for conventional shortening in a baked good and is especially suited for use as a roll-in shortening for laminated pastries.
