  • Publication number: 20050222451
Abstract: The present invention provides a method of preparing 1-acetyl-1-chlorocyclopropane from 1,3 dichloro-2-pentanone by reaction with base in the presence of a phase transfer catalyst. The reaction may be run in the presence or absence of an organic solvent and in a continuous or batch process.

  • Patent number: 6825887
Abstract: An interface circuit 13 is provided for a display apparatus 3 such as a television. The display apparatus 3 comprises a video signal processing circuit 8 for processing a composite video signal to derive color component signals having variable black and white levels; a linear amplifier 10 for amplifying the color component signals; and a display device 4 such as a CRT driven by the output of the linear amplifier 10. The interface circuit 13 is provided to interface the color component signals with a digital signal processor 14. The interface circuit 13 includes a modification circuit 22 arranged to perform a modification of voltage levels of the color component signals and to output the modified color component signals to the digital signal processor 14 via an A/D convertor 18.

  • Patent number: 4884836
Abstract: The plate lifting clamp of the present invention includes linkage disposed on the clamp with one end of the linkage connected to the lifting shackle and the other end of the linkage connected to a cam rotatably mounted on the clamp. A spring on the linkage causes the cam to rotate against the work piece gripping the work piece between the cam and a swivel pad mounted on the clamp. A further force is applied to the rotation of the cam as the work piece is lifted on the lifting shackle by the hoist. An operating handle is rotatably disposed on the clamp whereby when rotated to the open position, will cause the cam to rotate away from the work piece and open the clamp. A spring biased locking mechanism is provided on the clamp to lock the operating handle into the open position.

  • Patent number: 4096825
Abstract: An apparatus for applying an organic liquid sample such as blood or the like onto an absorbent sample support. The method performed by the apparatus includes the steps of filling a reservoir with a relatively massive sample, superimposing over the reservoir a sample carrier wettable by the sample and to which the sample adheres by surface tension, then immersing the sample carrier into the sample, withdrawing the sample carrier from the reservoir with the sample adhered to the carrier by surface tension, and, contacting the sample carrier with the sample support to break surface tension between the sample and the sample carrier and to deposit the sample onto the sample support. The apparatus includes a reservoir for receiving a relatively massive sample, a first guide path aligned with the reservoir, and a sample carrier displaceable along said first guide path toward and away from the reservoir with the sample carrier being immersible in the sample.
