  • Publication number: 20060095324
Abstract: Promotional content is electronically displayed on section directories placed throughout a store. A consumer captures one of the displayed promotions by providing consumer identification or other input at a consumer interface device located in the section corresponding to the directory which displays the promotion. The consumer identification is then associated with the promotion. This association is then integrated with the store's point-of-sale (POS) systems, such that when the consumer presents a product associated with the promotion for purchase at the POS, the POS applies the promotion (e.g. discount) to the sale. In one aspect, a section directory is placed within an aisle.

  • Publication number: 20060062661
Abstract: A preferred embodiment of a lifting device includes a mounting column having a first major portion extending in a first direction, and a second major portion fixedly coupled to the first major portion and extending in a second direction. The lifting device also comprises a lifting arm rotatably mounted on the second major portion of the mounting column and having a first hole formed therein for receiving a pin, a bracket fixedly coupled to the second portion of the mounting column and having a second hole formed therein for receiving the pin so that the pin restrains the lifting arm from substantial rotation about the second major portion of the mounting column, and a retaining member secured to the second major portion of the mounting column so that the bracket and the retaining member restrain the lifting arm from substantial movement in the second direction.

  • Publication number: 20050066986
Abstract: A smokable rod for a smoking article, such as a cigarette, possesses a co-axial or concentric construction. A longitudinally extending inner core of tobacco cut filler is positioned within a smokable rod. The outer material that circumscribes the inner core in an annular fashion is composed of a tobacco material treated with an optional burn suppressing agent, and the outer material acts as a substrate for an aerosol forming material. A preferred aerosol forming material is glycerin. An outer paper wrapper circumscribes the length of the smokable rod, and another paper wrapping material also can circumscribe the inner core material. In use, one end of the smokable rod is lit. When the opposite end of the smokable rod is drawn upon, an aerosol composed of tobacco smoke, thermal decomposition products of tobacco, and volatilized aerosol forming material, is provided.

  • Publication number: 20050035338
Abstract: A preferred embodiment of a roller assembly for a lifting device for a personal-transportation vehicle includes a shaft member for mounting on a lifting arm assembly of the lifting device and having an outer surface, and a roller member for supporting a lifting strap of the lifting device. The roller member has an inner surface defining a central passage for receiving the shaft and contacting the outer surface. The inner and outer surfaces have complementary profiles that permit a relative orientation of the roller member and the shaft member to change so that a weight vector acting through the lifting strap can remain substantially perpendicular to an axial centerline of the roller member.

  • Publication number: 20050019125
Abstract: A preferred embodiment of a device for securing a personal-transport vehicle to a mounting surface includes one of a plow bracket and a bracket member for mounting on one of the personal-transport vehicle and the mounting surface, and a receptacle for mounting on the other of the personal transport vehicle and the mounting surface and for mating with and receiving the one of a plow bracket and a bracket member. The receptacle includes a panel and a docking lever pivotally coupled to the panel and movable between a first position wherein docking lever retains the one of a plow bracket and a bracket member so that the receptacle and the one of a plow bracket and a bracket member remain in a mated condition, and a second position.

  • Publication number: 20050017731
Abstract: A detection module and remote load voltage sensor determine a location of a parallel arc for a power circuit between a power source and a load in real time. The detection module provides a value of voltage from the power source. A current sensor measures a value of current flowing in the power circuit to or from the power source. The remote load voltage sensor measures a value of voltage at the load. A microprocessor determines the parallel arc location from the value of voltage from the power source, the value of current, the value of voltage at the load, and a wire resistance or conductance per unit length of the power circuit. In one case, connector resistance is accounted for. In another case, the load voltage is encoded at a predetermined frequency using a switched precision resistor near the load, thereby providing a power line carrier type communication.
