Abstract: A hair wash and rinse brush provides for a substantially flat brush structure that comprises a handle portion and a paddle, or “brush,” portion. The brush portion incorporates a plurality of apertures. Some of the apertures have hollow bristles disposed within them. In this fashion, water can be dispersed directly onto the hair of the user or the user's pet and directly onto the user's scalp or onto the pet's skin during washing and rinsing. The brush may also alternatively include an enclosure at the back of the brush, the enclosure for attaching the brush to a water supply. The enclosure can also be configured to be removably attachable to the back of the brush.

Abstract: A method and assay for predicting athletic performance potential of a subject, such as a thoroughbred race horse, comprising the steps of assaying a biological sample from a subject for the presence of a single nucleotide polymorphism in one or more genes associated with athletic performance. The athletic performance genes may be selected from one or more of MSTN, COX4I2, PDK4, CKM and COX4I1.

Abstract: A fuel system for an energy conversion device includes a multiple of fuel plates, oxygen permeable membranes, porous substrate plates, and vacuum frame plates which define a wave pattern configuration. The wave configuration enhances deoxygenation by increasing the efficiency and integrality due to higher surface volume ration, increase of flow turbulence, and minimal sharp edges which may otherwise damage the oxygen permeable membranes compared to other configurations.

Abstract: An apparatus combines a plurality of incoming audio signals and outputs a combined audio signal. The incoming audio signals include a music signal, e.g., from a CD or cassette player, and a rhythm signal triggered by a user's heartbeat. The tempo of the rhythm will increase or decrease with the pulse rate of the user. In an alternative embodiment, the tempo may be set at a predetermined level to raise or lower the heartbeat of the user.
