  • Patent number: 8839313
Abstract: A system that delivers live broadcast media to consumer devices, including a system for enabling devices without native capabilities such as internal bulk storage and stream processing, to have command and control of live broadcast streams, has been provided. This is achieved through intercepting and converting the normal service provider channel mapping data to a new channel map which points to a software system that delivers command and control of live broadcast media, and implementation of a software system which can receive a channel change protocol, establish a command and control session with the device, convert the channel map protocol to the original format, tune in, receive, convert and process the live stream so that it can be delivered to the requesting device and in turn be controlled by user interaction with that device or the software system. A corresponding method is also provided.

  • Publication number: 20130132165
Abstract: A computer system and method for product testing, analysis and scoring wherein the method includes defining at least one critical to quality (CTQ) parameter for product performance, defining a product test plan to verify product performance against one or more CTQ parameters, conducting and monitoring product testing, determining relative index performance scores, constructing a scorecard for products tested, and optionally modifying the product scorecard. The system and method is useful for clients (i.e. store retailers or merchants), product vendors (i.e. product manufacturers or distributors of products), testing laboratories, customers (i.e. direct consumers of the products), and product performance intermediaries (i.e. testing coordinators and testing data analysts). This system and method allows these parties to interact, exchange information, and display information in tabular and graphical formats for determining how similar products perform relative to each other.

  • Patent number: 7760760
Abstract: A computer-implemented method comprises a plurality of operations. An operation is performed for creating an IP packet containing MPEG (Moving Picture Experts Group) packets therein and having a header including a value computed using a respective bit value of each one of the MPEG packets. Thereafter, an operation is performed for analyzing the computed value to determine an importance of the MPED packets relative to decoded video quality of a video stream including the MPEG packets.

  • Publication number: 20090089834
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for displaying an electronic program guide in a 3D rendered landscape. Program blocks, each having a channel and a program time, are displayed as vertical blocks within the 3D rendered landscape. Channel information blocks are also displayed, one for each distinct channel of the program blocks. The EPG may be perused by navigating within the 3D rendered landscape. Flags are provided for highlighting program blocks which satisfy a user-specified criterion, such as favourite show. Perspective within the 3D rendered landscape allows many program blocks to be displayed, with program blocks for farther channels being compressed. The flags allow a user to see that there is a program of interest in the distance, and to navigate towards the associated program block in order to obtain further details.

  • Patent number: 6521783
Abstract: This invention relates in part to a processes for the conversion of a feedstock stream comprising carbon monoxide and hydrogen to a product stream comprising at least one of an ester, acid, acid anhydride and mixtures thereof. This invention also relates in part to processes for converting an alcohol and/or ether feedstock to oxygenated products, e.g., esters, acids, acid anhydrides and mixtures thereof. The processes and catalysts are especially suitable for the production of acetic acid and methyl acetate from a synthesis gas feedstock or from an alcohol and/or ether feedstock.
