  • Publication number: 20240026839
Abstract: A device and assembly for reliably generating supersonic detonation waves in a fuel and air or fuel and oxygen mixture. The device may use a hemispherical detonation chamber into which reactants, comprising a fuel and air or oxygen mixture are injected and ignited by a laser igniter to initiate a detonation wave. The wave is reflected by the hemispherical geometry of the detonation chamber and may exit the device through a fast-acting valve. The detonation chamber may be then purged and the cycle is repeated many times per second. The device may be used for various applications which include but are not limited to a stand-alone intermittent combustion engine, a pre-detonator for an intermittent combustion engine, a projectile launcher, a cleaning device, acoustical energy generation, pressure energy generation, various manufacturing processes and electric power generation. The device may use liquid, gaseous, or solid fuels, depending on the application.

  • Patent number: 10997264
Abstract: Systems and techniques for delivery of contextual interest from interaction information are described that process user interactions with digital content to generate user interest scores for various topics. A contextual user interest system uses user interaction data to identify and contextualize content, and assigns propensity scores to the contextualized content. By dynamically contextualizing pages of content, the contextual user interest system may adapt to changes in the content and provide more accurate and robust information over time, which is not possible using conventional techniques. The contextualized pages of content are used to assign user interest scores across a number of topics to users who have visited the pages of content, and the user interest scores are normalized in a manner that allows a user's degree of interest in a topic to be compared to that of another user.

  • Publication number: 20190047129
Abstract: A combustion chamber has a combustion chamber wall formed as a hollow cylinder defining a cylinder axis, a bottom that is adjustable along the cylinder axis within the hollow cylinder, relative to the combustion chamber wall, and a seal, which lies against the bottom on the one side and against the combustion chamber wall on the other side, in a radial direction with reference to the cylinder axis. The seal comprises a first seal ring extending in the circumferential direction with reference to the cylinder axis and has a first interruption, and a second seal ring extending in the circumferential direction with reference to the cylinder axis and has a second interruption. The first interruption has a first angular position along the circumferential direction, and the second interruption has a second angular position along the circumferential direction, wherein the first angular position and the second angular position form an angle.

  • Patent number: 8914383
Abstract: A system and method for providing job recommendations based on user behavior or characteristics are disclosed herein. The job recommendations are configured in accordance with a data set based on relational analysis of previous users' activity, or matches between job postings and the user's resume or user profile information. The presentation of job recommendations is triggered, configured, and provided transparently to the user.

  • Publication number: 20120198341
Abstract: The system and method of the present application allows for the configurable display of a number of physiological parameters on a wide variety of display sizes, usually those displays that are smaller than the bedside monitor display. The system and method organizes data in a grid of displayable elements, each displayable element including a piece of information corresponding to a collected physiological parameter of a patient. Depending upon the size of the display, an appropriate number of displayable elements are organized in a grid on the display and the size of each grid on the display is configurable and adjustable by a user.

  • Patent number: 4095803
Abstract: The disclosure illustrates an oil seal assembly for a keyway which receives a pin for an interconnection between an accessory drive pulley and a shaft extending from a diesel engine accessory drive gear box. The oil seal consists of an L-shaped elastomeric seal with one leg of the L extending into the keyway and the other leg providing a shoulder which abuts the shaft adjacent the keyway end. A nut threaded onto the end of the shaft holds a washer against the L-shaped seal thus compressing it. So compressed, the seal expands against the walls of the keyway to form an effective seal against the flow of oil therethrough. Preferably, the seal is formed from material which swells exceedingly when immersed in petroleum products. As a result, any leakage causes the seal to expand and stop further oil flow.
