Abstract: An amine dispersant containing one or more amino and/or imino groups, a poly(oxy-C1-6-alkylene carbonyl) chain (POAC chain) obtainable from two or more different linear hydroxycarboxylic acids or lactones thereof and a residue of an ethylenically unsaturated group wherein the amino and/or imino groups are attached via the ethylenically unsaturated group. The POAC chain may be made from 2-hydroxyethylacrylate, &egr;-caprolactone and &dgr;-valerolactone and the amine and/or imino groups may be provided by polyethyleneimine.

Abstract: A composition comprising a cellulosic non-woven material containing a mixture of polymeric biguanides such as poly(hexamethylene biguanide) together with an anionic polymer such as a polyacrylic acid super-absorbent and the use of such composition in disposable articles such as nappies.

Abstract: A toner resin composition comprising a toner resin and the metal salt or complex of a carbocyclic hydroxy caboxylic acid containing at least one methylene group optionally substituted by hydroxy or amino such as 4-(N-methyl-N-2-hydroxyethyl)aminomethyl-3-hydroxy-2-naphthoic acid. Iron and zinc salts are preferred.

Abstract: Azo dyestuffs of the formula: ##STR1## wherein R is hydrogen, methyl or phenyl, R.sup.1 is methyl, ethyl or benzyl, R.sup.2 is methyl, ethyl, methoxy or chloro, n is 0 or 1 and when n is 1, R.sup.2 is in the 7-position of the tetrahydroquinoline ring and R.sup.3 is straight chain butyl, pentyl or hexyl and X is an anion; a process for the manufacture of such dyestuffs which are useful for the coloration of synthetic polymeric materials such as polyacrylonitrile and blends thereof.

Abstract: Azo dyestuffs devoid of carboxylic acid and sulphonic acid groups and of the formula I ##STR1## wherein A is the residue of 1,3 or 1,4-benzodioxan ring structure fused to the thiazole ring via the benzene ring, B is the residue of a para-coupling amine or an indole, R is an optionally substituted alkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkyl or aralkyl radical and X is an anion.The dyestuffs are useful for the colorization of synthetic polymeric materials particularly polyacrylonitrile and copolymers thereof.

Abstract: A process for the batdhwise dyeing of polyamide textile materials which comprises treating said material in an aqueous dye liquor containing not more than 10% by volume of at least one organic liquid capable of forming an azeotrope with water and an anionic dye, said dye liquor being maintained during at least part of the treatment at a temperature higher than the boiling point of said azeotrope and under a pressure greater than atmospheric pressure, and then recovering the organic liquid, by distillation before removing the textile material from the aqueous dye liquor.
