  • Publication number: 20150075690
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a novel solution for preventing pinch flats and installation flats incurred by an inner tube as a result of the wheel striking an object. Embodiments are directed to an inner tube protector that fits within a tire and provides mechanical protection to the inner tube against tire strikes. Embodiments may include an inner region adapted to support an inner tube installed around a rim of a wheel. Additionally, embodiments may include an outer region adapted for insertion within and against the rim lip of the rim which provide protection to the inner tube responsive to the wheel striking an object. As such, embodiments may be positioned between the rim and inner tube in a manner that dulls an edge of the rim lip and, thereby, provides protection to the inner tube when compressed against the otherwise sharp edges of the rim lip.

  • Publication number: 20140359688
Abstract: A trigger manager and related processes and systems for managing triggers for a plurality of subscribing set-top boxes in an interactive television environment are provided. In response to receipt of a configuration update request originating from a specific set-top box, the trigger manager accesses a database of subscribing set-top box profiles associating subscribing set-top boxes with respective sets of triggers. The database is processed based on the configuration update request to identify a profile associated with the specific set-top box from which the configuration update request originated. Trigger update information associated with the identified profile is transmitted over a network to the specific set-top box from which the configuration update request originated. In response to receipt at the specific set-top box of the trigger update information, the set of current triggers in the memory unit is updated at least in part based on the information received.

  • Patent number: 8120748
Abstract: A method of optimizing lithographic processing to achieve substrate uniformity, is presented herein. In one embodiment, The method includes deriving hyper-sampled correlation information indicative of photoresist behavior for a plurality of wafer substrates processed at pre-specified target processing conditions. The derivation includes micro-exposing subfields of the substrates with a pattern, processing the substrates at the various target conditions, determining photoresist-related characteristics of the subfields (e.g., Bossung curvatures), and extracting correlation information regarding the subfield characteristics and the different target processing conditions to relate the target conditions as a function of subfield characteristics. The method then detects non-uniformities in a micro-exposed subsequent substrate processed under production-level processing conditions and exploits the correlation information to adjust the production-level conditions and achieve uniformity across the substrate.

  • Publication number: 20120006776
Abstract: Apparatus for supporting a panel of plywood or sheetrock having a frame with left and right vertical tubes, a bottom horizontal tube attached to the sides and at the bottom ends of the vertical tubes, and a top horizontal tube attached to a side of the left and right vertical tubes and at their top ends. The bottom tube has a first cutout which is sized to receive a stud; and a clip having a second cutout with a width which is sized to receive a stud is attached to the top tube. The distance between the outside surfaces of the left and right vertical tubes is sized to fit between studs located on sixteen inch centers and the ends of the top and bottom horizontal tubes extend beyond the outside edges of the left and right vertical tubes to prevent the frame, when placed between two studs, from falling in between the studs.

  • Patent number: 7937638
Abstract: A system, method and data structure for error correction for use in the transmission of content data distribution networks uses a compressed memory, for example a bitmap, to identify portions of transmitted content data files where transmission errors have occurred. The error memory, is used to generate an error status report that is returned to a transmission controller via a low bandwidth back channel, for example the Internet. The information in multiple error status reports is aggregated by the control system of the transmitter and used to re-transmit those portions of previously transmitted content data files that were not properly received due to error. By re-transmitting only the data packets of the transmitted content data files that contain errors, overall transmission speed is increased and bandwidth usage is conserved.

  • Publication number: 20050267774
Abstract: A system and method determines a vehicle valuation by obtaining actual vehicle sales price data pertaining to automobile dealer or private individual sales from a local, state or federal government agency, such as a Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), a Department of Revenue (DOR), an Internal Revenue Service (IRS), etc. and uses this actual sales price data to determine a market value for a particular automobile. The system and method may include determining, from sources other than the government agency, information about a particular comparable vehicle, such as the mileage, the options, the equipment, and the condition of a particular comparable vehicle prior to a sale of the vehicle and then attaching an actual sales price for the particular comparable vehicle as obtained from the government agency after the sale of the particular vehicle to thereby create a comparable vehicle within a database.

  • Patent number: 6098018
Abstract: A cloud radar apparatus is mounted on a portable containerized unit, a number of which may be located at various positions throughout the planet. Cloud radar data from each unit are periodically measured and stored and made available to researchers, upon request, through the Internet or other network. The system comprises two computers operating on different operating systems. A first computer uses a first operating system which allows it to readily interface with various radar equipment using an IEEE 488 interface or the like, to monitor the health of the equipment and operate the equipment. A second computer system uses a second operating system in a multi-user mode which allows it to readily access and manipulate data files and transfer data over the network. Communication between the two computers is achieved by allowing the first computer to log into the second computer as one of the multiple users. The first computer may upload data to the second computer using a FTP protocol or the like.

  • Patent number: 5568151
Abstract: This method for Doppler spectral processing more readily identifies the profiler radar return signals from the atmosphere in the presence of contamination, e.g., from bird echoes, ground clutter, and radio frequency interference. Profiler radars measure winds in the atmosphere by using backscatter (i) from refractive index fluctuations in clear air due to turbulence or (ii) from precipitation such as rain or snow. These radars also receive contaminating radar returns from ground clutter (e.g., from vehicles, power lines, and trees) and from fliers (e.g., aircraft, insects, and birds). In general, the radar return signals from the atmosphere have statistical and physical properties different from those properties for the contaminating radar returns. This new method uses these differences to eliminate or reduce contamination in radar Doppler spectra for estimation of atmospheric winds.
