    Abstract: A process displays a taxonomy representing an organizational relationship of a plurality of nodes accessible to a computer. A taxonomy file having a user-generated definition of the taxonomy and the nodes is recorded in a data memory. The definitions of the taxonomy and the nodes are extracted from the taxonomy file. The taxonomy definition and the node definitions are provided in a tree node file suitable for interpretation by graphics software. The tree node file is interpreted and used for displaying the contents of the tree node file on a display screen.
