  • Publication number: 20040089293
Abstract: A dispenser for dispensing a medicament in a fluid propellant comprising: a) a canister for housing the medicament; b) a drug-dispensing valve made substantially of metal; and c) moisture absorbing means for absorbing moisture, is disclosed.
    Type: Application
    Filed: September 9, 2003
    Publication date: May 13, 2004
Inventors: Paul Johnson, David Michael Ottolangui
  • Publication number: 20040056054
Abstract: There is provided a dispenser for dispensing a medicament in a fluid propellant comprising a reservoir for housing the medicament and a drug-dispensing mechanism. The drug-dispensing mechanism may be a valve made wholly or substantially of metal. The metal surfaces of the reservoir and/or valve have been finished by electropolishing. The finished surfaces of the reservoir and/or valve reduce the tendency of drug to adhere thereto.

  • Publication number: 20040035417
Abstract: There is provided a dispenser for dispensing a medicament in a fluid propellant that includes a canister for housing the medicament and a drug-dispensing valve. The valve is made wholly or substantially of metal and the internal metal surfaces of the valve include a coating that enhances the surface energy thereof. The valve coating on the metal surfaces reduces the tendency of drug to adhere thereto, and improves the frictional properties thereof.
    Type: Application
    Filed: August 14, 2003
    Publication date: February 26, 2004
    Inventor: David Michael Ottolangui
  • Publication number: 20030183223
Abstract: There is provided according to the invention a component or accessory for use in a metered dose inhaler for dispensing a medicament in a fluid propellant, the component or accessory having a medicament interface comprising a treated surface and an untreated surface. There are also provided processes for its preparation and its use in therapy.
    Type: Application
    Filed: December 17, 2002
    Publication date: October 2, 2003
Inventors: Andrew Mark Hailey, David Michael Ottolangui
  • Publication number: 20030180228
Abstract: The invention relates inter alia to a container sealed with a valve, which contains a pharmaceutical aerosol formulation comprising (A) particulate salmeterol xinafoate in suspension in (B) a liquefied propellant gas which is 1,1,1,2,3,3,3-heptafluoro-n-propane or 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane and mixtures thereof; said container characterised in that the formulation is substantially anhydrous and remains so over a period of 12 months when stored at 25° C. and at relative humidity of 60%. Preferably the valve is characterised in that it contains one or more valve seals substantially constructed from a polymer of ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM).
