  • Patent number: 11446107
Abstract: A spinal implant package includes a sleeve defining a cavity extending through an end surface of the sleeve. A cap defines an aperture extending through an end surface of the cap. First portions of the end surfaces are joined to define a hinge. The end surface of the sleeve includes a second portion defining a first lip. The end surface of the cap includes a second portion defining a second lip. The package is movable between a closed configuration in which the first lip is adjacent the second lip and a portion of the spinal implant is enclosed within the cavity and the aperture, and an open configuration in which the first lip is spaced farther apart from the second lip and the portion of the spinal implant is positioned outside of the aperture while remaining positioned inside of the cavity.

  • Patent number: 9179984
Abstract: A navigation system generally determines a location of a portion of a first medical instrument relative to a patient. The navigation system generally includes a multi-configuration tracking array that extends from the first medical instrument. A plurality of tracking devices can be positioned on the multi-configuration tracking array. At least one of the tracking devices changes to define at least a first condition and a second condition. A tracking system detects the tracking devices and relates a change between the first condition and the second condition with a change between at least a first instrument configuration and a second instrument configuration.

  • Publication number: 20090299439
Abstract: A surgical tool is disclosed that is capable of communicating wirelessly with either a neural integrity monitoring system or a surgical navigation system. The surgical tool includes electronic circuitry operable to provide a neural stimulation signal to a surgical instrument connected with the tool. If a predetermined response is received by the neural integrity monitoring system, it is capable of automatically stopping rotation of the surgical instrument. Further, if a predetermined safe threshold is breached or about to be breached, the surgical navigation system is operable to automatically stop rotation of the surgical instrument. In addition, the surgical tool is provided with audio and visual feedback of the neurological status of the patient.
