  • Publication number: 20080269942
Abstract: A market-based search system uses a digital geometric CAD model as a filter against other digital geometric CAD models that have been used or that may be used to produce actual products and that have real-world cost and other transactional data. Specifically, a digital CAD model is used as an index into market-based data. A geometry based search engine can perform a first pass of comparing indexed parameters derived from the CAD model provided in a search query against index data of an indexed CAD assets database. A transaction search engine can then be used to perform a second pass on the results from the geometric based search in order to match any transactional data, process data, or technical attribute data of the CAD model with real-world transactional data and/or process data associated with CAD models discovered by the indexed data search.

  • Publication number: 20080234451
Abstract: A ring-opening metathesis polymerisation (ROMP) reaction is disclosed in which a cyclic alkene compound is subjected to ROMP using a transition metal ROMP catalyst which has an alkyl moiety which is connected to the metal centre thereof through a double bond. The process includes the step of adding sufficient of an acyclic alkene having a carbon-carbon double bond capable of reacting with the catalytic metal moieties attached to the living end of each of the polymer chains generated in the ROMP reaction to end cap the polymer chains and to generate a stable olefin metathesis catalyst.

  • Patent number: 7274684
Abstract: In a complete network-in-a-box system acting as an enterprise network demarcation point, packets such as voice, video and data packets, are routed over common network connections, such as LAN and WAN. The packets are mapped from a public address field (such as an IP address) and port number to a private address field and port number, the mapping process typically being handled by a NAT (Network Address Translation). The packets are also prioritized, by marking the packets for priority queuing and routing, and configuring the bandwidths of the WAN traffic and the voice traffic to predetermined quantities and configuring the address fields of the voice devices. Simultaneous transmission of the various packets can be limited to predetermined quantities, typically by utilizing a CAC (Client Access Control).

  • Publication number: 20070174454
Abstract: A method and apparatus for accessing Web services and URL resources for both primary and shared users over a reverse tunnel mechanism are provided. Current limitations on accessing Web services and URL resources located behind firewalls or otherwise made secure and largely inaccessible are overcome through a novel use of a “reverse tunneling” mechanism. The mechanism uses an Agent to obfuscate physical address endpoints of Web services and other resources, as well as to package SOAP service requests in such a way that they can be passed through firewalls unimpeded. All of this data transfer is made secure through encryption, strong authentication, and by making use of the security environment on both a user's individual device and the LAN proper. In addition, a primary user may share data access rights within the secure LAN environment to a secondary user and, using the present invention, provide only those access rights to the shared user over the open Internet.

  • Patent number: 7048145
Abstract: A liquid delivery apparatus includes a vessel having an inlet and an outlet, and a valve between the vessel and the outlet. The valve has an opening, a closure member for closing the opening, and a biasing means to hold the valve in a normally-closed position. A valve control mechanism controls operation of the valve in response to pressure of liquid and air in the vessel. A transmitting means transmits the pressure to the valve control mechanism. The valve control mechanism includes a moveable element that can be acted on by the pressure in the vessel and transmit a resultant force to the closure member to thereby open the valve. The respective effective surface areas of the moveable element and the closure member and the force of the biasing means are chosen such that the closure member is openable when the pressure in the vessel reaches a predetermined level.
