    Abstract: A security system (28) for a lap-top computer (30) with a monitor housing (32) hinged thereto. The system (28) comprises a low profile mounting plate (34). A component (36) is for affixing the low profile mounting plate (34) to the monitor housing (32). An elongated flexible retainment cable (38) is provided. A first assembly (40) is for locking in a swiveled manner, a first end of the cable (38) to a table/counter top (41). A second assembly (42) is for locking in a universal articulated manner a second end of the cable (38) to the low profile mounting plate (34). The monitor housing (32) of the lap-top computer (30) can be moved from a closed position to a vertical opened position, without interference from the cable (38) for full freedom of movement and positioning thereof.
