  • Patent number: 12056153
Abstract: A method, system and computer program product is provided. The method includes identifying a large statement, writing rows that are changed by the large statement into a set of files outside a database management system recovery log, and writing log records for the set of files to the database management system recovery log, such that the log records provide ordering of row changes made by the large statement. The log records include a log sequence number corresponding to a first row changed and a format and encoding used for the row changes. • Publication number: 20070174325
Abstract: Building a database from stored backup data images. In one aspect, an identification of a target image is received, the target image including a copy of a logical storage unit of data from a previous database and description information that describes the previous database. The target image holds a copy of a subset of the data of the previous database. A received list has at least one desired logical storage unit of data from the previous database to be included in a built database. The desired logical storage unit is restored from at least one stored data image to the built database using the description information in the target image. Other aspects include the target image being a database image, and the desired logical storage units of data being a subset of database data.

  • Patent number: 6948436
Abstract: An apparatus for the combustion of organic waste such as poultry litter/manure, cow manure and swine manure, and/or human waste, and/or biomass using a moving grate over a stationary perforated plate to convert organic waste into usable energy. The unprocessed fuel is fed into the combustion chamber through a feed hopper by a moving grate being continuously pulled over a stationary perforated plate. The raw fuel is metered using a guillotine gate apparatus to control the depth of the fuel bed on the moving grate. Temperature controlled combustion air is directed under the stationary perforated plate (under fire air) into discreet controllable under fire air zones to initiate and drive the combustion process. The stationary plate is sectioned to match the discreet under fire air zones with holes and/or slots (perforations) shaped and sized for proper under fire air distribution and pressure drop through the plate.

  • Publication number: 20050002982
Abstract: The present invention comprises an implantable device that provides artificial tissues for repair, augmentation and reconstructive surgery which have mechanical properties comparable to the natural tissues that they supplement or replace. Such devices can be produced by a tissue engineering method comprising seeding a polymer matrix with a first cell type and a second cell type and culturing the seeded matrix under conditions suitable for cell growth or maintenance, whereby a tissue comprising a mixed cell population containing both the first and second cell types is produced. The tissue produced by this method contains a mixed population in which the two cell types are intimately associated without apparent stratification and has mechanical properties which are intermediate between similarly produced tissues containing either one of the two cell types. This invention is particularly useful in forming implantable structural members.

  • Patent number: 6511650
Abstract: This invention is directed to a new approach to form porous hydrogel materials by first creating gas pockets in the gel and then removing this gas. The removal of the gas creates a porous material, and the initial incorporation of sufficient gas allows one to create a material with an open, interconnected pore structure. Advantageous features of the resulting materials, in addition to their interconnected pore structure, may include that the pore structure is maintained over extended time periods and that the gels maintain a high mechanical integrity that allows seeding with cells and implantation without destruction or compression of the material.
