Abstract: Briefly, a nasal strip is provided that targets specific internal structures in the nose to efficiently and effectively open nasal passages for improved breathing and air flow. The nasal strip has (1) a vertical beam portion that may optionally be used to lift the end of the nose, (2) an upper lateral beam leaf spring that lifts the nose's internal upper cartilage, and (3) a lower lateral beam leaf spring that lifts the nose's internal lower cartilage. Each of these contributes to improved air flow in the nasal passageways. Further, the vertical beam portion acts as an attachment guide that facilitates repeatable and correct wearing of the nasal strip. In one construction, the nasal strip is a unitary body with three layers: a base adhesive layer, a middle leaf spring layer, and a covering layer.

Abstract: Disclosed are speculum embodiments and related methods to comfortably dilate a woman's vaginal canal during a pelvic exam. In one aspect, a flute having retractable rods and foldable rings are provided. The flute is configured to transition between an expanded state where the proximal and distal foldable rings are in an unfolded orientation and a collapsed state where the proximal and distal foldable rings are in a folded orientation. A handle maintains the flute in the collapsed state and, in at least one embodiment, a ring collar is provided and configured to engage the flute when the flute is in the expanded state. A light source can be provided in the flute or ring collar.

Abstract: A charcoal-fueled barbecue grill and smoker includes a duct system with “volcanoes” on the inside of the lower grill chamber that match holes in a tube fitted to the lower grill chamber, such that a turning of the tube provides precise venting and temperature control during cooking. A rear stabilizer attached to the lower grill chamber allows the grill to be used either with or without a stand, preventing the grill from toppling over when the lid is opened. The grill may include one or more removable shelves. An ash evacuation system includes a frusto-conical ash bucket that attaches at a hole in the lower grill chamber and held in place by the rear stabilizer using an ash bucket hanger.

A sensing system featuring at least one of an analyte-selective sensor and at least one of an analyte-invariant sensor.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention may include an electronic device which may use a portable computer such as a smartphone perhaps to perform computations, while allowing a user to interact with the smartphone as though it was another form of computer, such as a tablet, laptop, or desktop. A non-limiting example of this may be a device in the shape of a laptop with an apparatus next to the screen perhaps specifically intended for holding a smartphone or the like.
