  • Publication number: 20210158633
Abstract: Systems and methods for automatically distinguishing and tracking vehicle use for different driving type classifications are disclosed herein. In exemplary embodiments, personal and business use of a vehicle is distinguished and tracked. An orchestration service retrieves driving data from an Original Equipment Manufacturer of a vehicle, which in turn retrieves driving data directly from the vehicle itself. The data is retrieved from the vehicle without the need for installation of specialized hardware within the vehicle. From this driving data, metrics for each vehicle and for each driver can be determined and tracked by driving type classification, and aggregated over time.

  • Patent number: 10762734
Abstract: Systems and methods for automatically generating a commercial driver logbook based on vehicular data is disclosed herein. An example system includes a processor; and memory, the processor being configured to execute instructions stored in memory to perform a first type of authentication of a user based on an identifier received from a mobile device, unlock a door of a vehicle when the first type of authentication is complete, perform a second type of authentication of the user that is based on verification of a code transmitted to the user in response to completion of the first type of authentication, allow a key on event for the vehicle when both the first type of authentication and the second type of authentication are complete, and automatically generating a commercial driver logbook based on real-time drive time data collected from the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 10733819
Abstract: Secure and automated vehicular control using multi-factor authentication is disclosed herein. An example system includes a processor; and memory, the processor being configured to execute instructions stored in memory to: perform a first type of authentication of a user using a unique identifier for a user of a mobile device; transmit an unlock request to a vehicle controller when the first type of authentication is complete, the vehicle controller unlocking a door of the vehicle in response; perform a second type of authentication of the user; and transmit an indication to the vehicle controller of the vehicle to confirm that the second type of authentication is complete, wherein the vehicle controller starts an engine of the vehicle in response to the second type of authentication being complete.

  • Publication number: 20200200649
Abstract: Systems and methods that provide for fuel usage monitoring, carbon footprint determination, and solutions for reducing vehicular carbon footprint are disclosed herein. One embodiment of a system includes a processor and memory, the processor being configured to execute instructions stored in memory to perform a method of receiving a selection of a specific vehicle from a number of vehicles in a fleet for use by a driver; receiving via a computer network, a number of vehicle performance metrics for a trip performed by the driver in the specific vehicle; and determining a carbon footprint value for the driver performing the trip based at least on chemical composition of a fuel type, and a fuel consumption performance metric for the specific vehicle. Also, the system provides a method of selecting, one or more actions to reduce the carbon footprint value of the driver, and selectively communicating the selected actions to a driver's computing device.
