  • Publication number: 20040213399
Abstract: A system, method, apparatus, means, and computer program code for facilitating customer service for a parking facility. A parking facility may include one or more garage stations, such as an entry system, exit system, pay station, camera, telephone or other communication device, etc. The garage stations may be in communication directly or indirectly with a call center to report alerts, indicate malfunctions or other problems, or provide other messages. In addition, a customer at the parking facility may use a telephone or other communication device to initiate communication with the call center in order to ask a question, report a problem, etc. The call center may route information regarding an event at a parking facility to an agent station associated with an agent assigned or otherwise selected to respond to the event.

  • Publication number: 20040168387
Abstract: A method and apparatus for forming a waterproof building wall is disclosed, including providing a mold that fits around a window or other structure held in the wall, applying stucco or other moldable material that hardens to form an exterior coating for the wall and a recess from the mold, and sealing the recess with an elastic and waterproof sealant that is attached to both the structure and the side of the recess. The resulting wall may have a sealed recess between the stucco coating and the structure that extends less than about one centimeter from the structure, and the seal can expand and contract in conformance with expansion and contraction of a distance between the edge and the side surface.

  • Publication number: 20040165012
Abstract: A GUI is configured to give a user a selectable option to choose a preferred amount of offset for cascading menus. The user can manually input an offset of any value and in a preferred embodiment the offset is selectable from 1-100%, and presets can be made available from a drop-down menu (e.g., in 10% increments, i.e., 10%, 20%, 30%, etc.) for selection. This allows the user to minimize the need to move the mouse pointer horizontally to access a cascading menu and thus reduces the inadvertent selection of an incorrect menu item.

  • Patent number: 6688906
Abstract: Probes and methods for testing electrical circuits are provided. One such probe includes a conductive socket, a conductive spring, and a housing that guides the conductive spring to the conductive socket to form an electrical connection between the spring and the socket. Once such method includes providing a conical housing and a spring and guiding the spring to the socket via the conical housing. The guiding step ensures that the spring contacts the socket during assembly and, therefore, ensures that a conductive path from the socket to the spring is provided. Methods and other probes are also provided.

  • Patent number: 6681386
Abstract: A method, system, and program for generating scripts in a networked environment are disclosed. A shell script is written in a programming language in which the shell script is used in a networked environment. The shell script is programmingly converted to a script executable under a specific platform. The script is executed under the specific platform. A script generating command its defined in the shell script. Parameters for the script generating command are defined. The script generating command is executed with the parameters to generate the script. Prefix names having associated prefix variables that are passed to the script generating command are also defined. • Patent number: 6651379
Abstract: A device for manually capturing and restraining intended insects, the same comprising a pad of stacked, singular sheets each sheet having a partial enveloping means comprised of hydrophillic absorbing material and collapsible sheet construction whereby the sheet partially conforms in reposne to the insects body mass. Each sheet has a region is coated with a mild compression adhesive material capable of trapping of an insect in response to the physical manipulation by a human being. The pad of stacked adhesive sheets can be used by separating each sheet individually or as a stack. Upon apprehension of an insect, the sheet restraining the insect is separated, if not already separated from its stack, folded to encase the insect and ready for disposal. The pad of stacked adhesive sheets can have various sheet sizes, thickness and density with varying enveloping ability—all depending upon intended insect to be trapped.

  • Publication number: 20030200508
Abstract: A method, system and apparatus for automatically assigning mnemonics to text strings in a GUI are provided. First, all text strings used in the GUI that are associated with controls requiring mnemonics are stored in a table. Then using common assignment rules, each text string is automatically assigned a unique mnemonic. Text strings that are generally assigned particular mnemonics (i.e., standard mnemonics) are assigned those standard mnemonics. Each mnemonic used is registered into another table to ensure against duplication of mnemonics.

  • Publication number: 20030051340
Abstract: A circuit on a printed circuit board transmits radio frequency (RF) signals. A modulator operatively coupled to the printed circuit board modulates a signal to be transmitted by modulating an information signal onto a carrier signal. A ground plane attaches to edges and to first and second surfaces of the printed circuit board. The ground plane electrically connects to components of the modulator. A power transistor physically attaches to the printed circuit board and electrically connects to the ground plane through a slot in the printed circuit board. The ground plane provides a suitable ground reference potential for both the modulator and the power transistor without individually constructed circuit boards for each. A ground isolation barrier formed on the ground plane may prevent “cross talk” between the modulator and the power transistor.
