  • Publication number: 20100211462
Abstract: A method and system for providing targeted content over a product distribution network (PDN) is disclosed. A PDN is capable of receiving product request messages (PRMs), such as messages sent by short messaging service (SMS). A user who sends a PRM receives a response message, including the requested data, an advertisement, and a virtual game piece, which potentially alters the user's status in the game. Under some conditions, the user wins a prize, which may be targeted to the user's demographic data. In some embodiments, to complete a game, or to redeem a prize, the user will need to visit a website.

  • Publication number: 20100161423
Abstract: An multimedia product display (MPD) for advertising goods includes a display screen and a programmable display controller for providing an image to the display screen. The screen may be formed of known technologies such as LCD, TFT LCD, NST LCD, and OLED. The screen is integrated into a case that imitates the form factor of the product advertised, for example, a display that looks like a box of WHEATIES® cereal may be used to advertise WHEATIES® cereal. In other embodiments, the display screen and programmable computer may be integrated into actual product packaging, for example, a COCA-COLA FRIDGE PACK o package may include animated instructions for opening and using the pack.

  • Publication number: 20100145802
Abstract: A product distribution network enables a user to easily order remote products. The user may encounter an advertisement and send a Product Request Message (PRM), identifying the advertiser or the product, to a service provider. The service provider may then charge a fixed-rate premium for the message and instruct a product provider to deliver the product. In one embodiment, a user may hear a song on the radio and send a short messaging service (SMS) text message to a mobile phone service provider. The SMS message may include the call letters of the radio station. The service provider may then access the radio station's play list to identify the song currently playing. The service provider instructs an online music service to deliver the song to the user. The user is then charged a fixed premium rate for the text message, which is divided appropriately among the parties.

  • Publication number: 20090063627
Abstract: A playlist on demand is a type of product distribution network (PDN) that provides an easy method for users to access music heard on the radio or in other media. The user may sign up for an online service with a product distribution network (PDN) provider, which may include a customizable streaming playlist. When the user is listening to the radio, he or she may hear a song and want to add it to the playlist, but may not know the song's name, or may not be in a position to easily add that song through an online interface. In that case, the user can send a text message to the PDN provider, which may consist of the call letters or other identifier of a radio station the user is listening to. Alternative methods for sending a message to the PDN provider may include interactive features incorporated into the car stereo or into a standalone Radio Data System (RDS) receiver.

  • Patent number: 6151859
Abstract: Roof shingles (14) from used tires (10) are provided as well as a method of making the same. Used tires (10) are cut along the circumference on each edge to separate a tread piece (13) from the side walls (12) and the bead steel. Tread piece (13) is then cut by dye, shear or other method into a number of shorter pieces or shingles (14). The shingles are then secured in overlapping relationship, typically tread side outward, to form a waterproof covering on a building or other structure.
