Patent number: 11915203Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate scheduling maintenance services for a special-purpose vehicle. In an exemplary embodiment, a user device comprises a user interface, a processor, and memory comprising instructions that when executed by the processor cause the processor to output, to the user interface, a plurality of service method icons. The plurality of service methods comprise a first service method icon corresponding to a service being performed on the special-purpose vehicle at a first location and a second service method icon corresponding to the service being performed on the special-purpose vehicle at a second location. The first location and the second location are different locations. The memory also comprises instructions that when executed by the processor cause the processor to receive, via the user interface, a selection of a service method icon of the plurality of service method icons and send, to a scheduling server, a signal corresponding to the selected service method icon.Type: GrantFiled: November 20, 2019Date of Patent: February 27, 2024Assignee: Polaris Industries Inc.Inventors: Douglas Koch, John Kastanek, Bridget McLennan, Nicole Wolverton, Josh Grube, Adam McCullough, Deirdre O'Connell, Alex Royalty, David Duckworth, Jamie Curran, Evan Hoffman

Patent number: 7796524Abstract: A method of monitoring quality of service in communications over a packet-based network, involves transmitting test packets across the network and monitoring transmission characteristics such as packet loss and transmission delay for the test packets. A measure of network performance is then dynamically calculated from the transmission characteristics, and is displayed at the endpoint as a dynamic indication of the network performance.Type: GrantFiled: October 6, 2000Date of Patent: September 14, 2010Inventors: David O'Connell, Donal O'Murchu, Joseph Smyth

Publication number: 20080077882Abstract: A user-interactive display system for a vehicle includes an interior rearview mirror assembly, a portable hand-held device, and a display device. The portable hand-held device is operable to communicate a first signal to a vehicle-based receiver. A user input is actuatable so that a user can select an item from a listing of choices displayed by the display device, whereby the user-interactive display system (a) displays at the display device data associated with the selected item in response to the user-selection of the selected item from the listing of choices, and/or (b) audibly plays at an audio device of the vehicle data associated with the selected item in response to the user-selection of the selected item from the listing of choices.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 26, 2007Publication date: March 27, 2008Inventors: Mark Kramer, Niall Lynam, David O'Connell, Vernon Nise

Patent number: 7232681Abstract: A kit for obtaining and shipping personal cell samples is provided. The kit contains such items as a transport tube, and collection swabs for obtaining a cell sample. The tube has a media plug impregnated with dehydrated media positioned within the tube near the top of a region of restricted diameter, and a compartment of rehydrating fluid located in a cap on the tube. Upon crushing the cap, the rehydrating fluid is released and rehydrates the media plug. When the collection swab is inserted into the transport tube, the swab pushes the rehydrated media plug through the region of restricted diameter and into the bottom of the tube. The collection surface of the swab thus maintains contact with the rehydrated media plug.Type: GrantFiled: April 24, 2003Date of Patent: June 19, 2007Inventor: David O'Connell

Patent number: 6697342Abstract: A conference system is provided for connection in a digital audio signal transmission system (50), for receiving N encoded audio signals from N conferees, wherein N is a positive integer greater than or equal to three. The system comprises a decoding system (90, 91, 92) for decoding the N audio signals, a selection system (100, 130) for selecting one from the N decoded audio signals, and means for switching (160) the selected encoded audio signal from an input stage (80, 81, 82) of the conference circuit to an output (161) of the conference circuit, for transmission at least to the N−1 conferees from whom the selected audio signal did not originate. This arrangement enables the audio from one conferee to be provided as the conference signal, without undergoing decoding and subsequent re-encoding. A decision is made as to whether one signal is appropriate or whether multiple audio signals should be combined.Type: GrantFiled: October 4, 1999Date of Patent: February 24, 2004Assignee: Nortel Networks LimitedInventors: Joseph Smyth, David O'Connell
