  • Publication number: 20230146711
Abstract: A motion sensing system uses high-voltage biasing to achieve high resolution with ultra-low power. The motion sensing system consists of a motion sensor, a readout circuit, and a high-voltage bias circuit to generate the optimized bias voltage for the motion sensor. By using the high-voltage bias, the signal from the motion sensor is raised above the readout circuit's noise floor, eliminating the power-hungry amplifier and signal-chopping used in conventional motion sensing systems. The bias circuit, while producing the programmable bias voltages for the motion sensor, also compensates for the process mismatch raised by the high voltage biases.

  • Publication number: 20230145078
Abstract: Commitments against various resources can be dynamically adjusted for customers in a shared-resource environment. A customer can provision a data volume with a committed rate of Input/Output Operations Per Second (IOPS) and pay only for that commitment (plus any overage), for example, as well as the amount of storage requested. The customer can subsequently adjust the committed rate of IOPS by submitting an appropriate request, or the rate can be adjusted automatically based on any of a number of criteria. Data volumes for the customer can be migrated, split, or combined in order to provide the adjusted rate. The interaction of the customer with the data volume does not need to change, independent of adjustments in rate or changes in the data volume, other than the rate at which requests are processed.

Abstract: A memristive device is described. The memristive device includes a first layer having a first plurality of conductive lines, a second layer having a second plurality of conductive lines, and memristive interlayer connectors. The first and second layers differ. The first and second pluralities of conductive lines are each lithographically defined. The first and second pluralities of conductive lines are insulated from each other. The memristive interlayer connectors are memristively coupled with a first portion of the first plurality of conductive lines and memristively coupled with a second portion of the second plurality of conductive lines. The memristive interlayer connectors are thus sparsely coupled with the first and second pluralities of conductive lines. • Publication number: 20230144877
Abstract: An automated process for separating and recycling a broad mix of waste material including, but not limited to, paper and flexible plastics. A materials recovery facility (MRF) collects, presorts, and separates into individual commodities the material, then separates partially processed 2D blends from 3D containers, while refraining from any quality control of the 2D blends, and bales the 2D blends. A fiber center receives the bales from the MRF, aggregates the partially processed 2D blends, removes recyclable commodities including flexible plastics from the 2D blends, aggregates each recyclable commodity that is removed from the 2D blends, and forms separate commodity streams of clean paper and clean flexible plastics. Also provided are a related fiber center (and an infrastructure including the center) and at least one computer-readable non-transitory storage medium embodying software for performing the process.

  • Publication number: 20230147876
Abstract: A fence post sleeve assembly for facilitating a fence post to easily be removed or replaced includes a post guide which includes a first half that is coupled to a second half. The post guide defines a sleeve to insertably receive a fence post. Furthermore, the post guide is comprised of a rigid material thereby facilitating the post guide to be buried in a post hole without collapsing. In this way the fence post can be inserted or removed from the post hole. A base is attached to the post guide to inhibit the fence post from passing through the sleeve defined by the first half and the second half.

  • Publication number: 20230146442
Abstract: A personal digital key (e.g., which can be carried by a human) contains a memory having different service blocks. Each service block is accessible by a corresponding service block access key. As the personal digital key (PDK) moves around, it is detected by sensors. The sensors report position data, thus enabling location tracking of the PDK. The sensors also provide a data path to various applications. An application that has access to a service block access key can therefore access the corresponding service block on the PDK. The sensors themselves may also contain service block access keys.

  • Publication number: 20230146640
Abstract: Systems and methods include receiving (S11) data for a plurality of elements associated with an optical network; determining (S12) an incremental noise penalty for each element of the plurality of elements based on the received data; and storing (S13) the incremental noise penalty for each element of the plurality of elements. The steps can further include determining (S14) Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) across an optical path in the optical network by concatenating associated incremental noise penalties for each element in the optical path along with corrections. The present disclosure includes a fast, nonlinear estimation process with improved accuracy for low loss spans compared to traditional closed-form GN models, as well as a method to determine the coherent nonlinear penalty in an arbitrary concatenation of mixed heterogeneous fibers which is not considered by existing fast nonlinear interference calculation methods.
