  • Patent number: 6515760
Abstract: A method and apparatus for processing digital image data of an image. The digital data is divided up into a plurality of image segments and distributed to at least two image processing units. The image segments each have an overlapping region of the next adjacent image segment. The digital data is manipulated by each of the at least two image processing units at the same time and sent to a print engine interface unit as requested where the image is recombined.

  • Patent number: 5608542
Abstract: Customized index prints incorporating user determined graphical representations and optional textual information is generated from user selectable digital index print description files having template data and bit-mapped graphical representations. Digital image data is provided from a film scanner along with frame number information and is resized using size instructions from the index print description file to fit the imagette areas in the index print template. Optional textual data is entered via a user interface to provide customized information to the customer. The processed imagette data and bit-mapped graphical representations (and optional textual information) is then merged into the index print template data to create a printable customized index print template file which can be sent directly to a digital printer or stored for subsequent off-line printing.

  • Patent number: 5220348
Abstract: There is disclosed an automatically adjustable electronic drive circuit for a multi-laser thermal-printer to insure uniformity in printing by all of the lasers. Each circuit includes a semi-conductor diode laser, a power transistor for driving the laser, a light sensor, a current sensor, a digitally adjustable potentiometer bias level unit, a dual input power amplifier for driving the power transistor, and two D/A converters for applying threshold and enable (full-on) signal levels to the inputs of the power amplifier. A first data feedback loop from a laser current monitor through an external central processor unit (CPU) to one of the D/A converters sets the threshold drive current to the laser. A second data feedback loop from the light sensor through the CPU and the adjustable bias unit to the second D/A converter establishes the level of the enable drive current to the laser to obtain a precisely calibrated full-on light power output of the laser.
