    Abstract: A locking mechanism for an enclosure is provided. The enclosure comprises a base including a locking groove formed therein, and a lid pivotally coupled with the base having a lock bore formed therein. The lock mechanism is mounted in the lock bore and includes a pin that is selectively positioned within the locking groove to secure the lid to the base. Also provided is a molding device and method for forming the lock bore. The mold device includes a base member with a pair of arms having a mold protrusion and a lower cam surface. The molding device also includes a housing having a pair of mold protrusion openings. The mold protrusions selectively extend outwardly through mold protrusion openings when a wedge engages the lower cam surfaces on the arms, wherein the arms spread apart from one another to form a pair of snap grooves in the lock bore.

    Abstract: A wireless system for locating patrons or customers is provided, the locating system including a wireless paging activator, one or more wireless pagers adapted to receive an identifying signal from the wireless paging activator and a plurality of a plurality of pager-caddies adapted to hold the wireless pagers, each pager-caddy affixed to a respective fixture located in a localized area, such as a restaurant, and each pager-caddy further adapted to temporarily hold a pager in a conspicuous location. In various embodiments, the locating system can rely less on visibility of the pager and alternatively use a transponder-based system that relies in part on a return signal generated by an activated transponder to provide at least a generalized a location of the transponder.

    Abstract: A flexible, three-dimensional container is made by a prescribed vacuum-molding and heat sealing process. The container possesses a precise, defined geometry before and during use. The container is formed from first and second walls. The first wall has a planar area and a vacuum-molded cavity area drawn out of the plane of the planar area into a predefined three-dimensional geometry. A second wall overlies the first wall to close the cavity area and thereby forms an interior compartment. A thermal seal joins the two walls together. The seal is formed by heating the second wall and the first wall in the planar area, while assuring that the cavity area of the first wall is not subject to heating and possible deformation of its precise vacuum-molded geometry.

    Abstract: A container has first and second walls, each formed of a thermoplastic sheet having a peripheral edge. A peripheral seal joins the peripheral edges together to form an interior chamber enclosed by the first and second walls. A port communicates with the interior chamber. The port is spaced from and does not extend through the peripheral seal. The port comprises a hollow thermoplastic tube, which extends through a slit in one of the first and second sheets and is oriented tangentially thereto. The slit is fused by heat about the tube, forming a heat fused junction. A medical product or a blood filter material can be housed in the interior chamber.

A first heat and pressure sealed region integrally bonds the peripheries of the first and second media layers together. The flexible housing comprises a peripheral rim aligned with the first heat and pressure sealed region of the first media layer. A second heat and pressure sealed region, formed after the first heat and pressure sealed region, joins the rim of the flexible housing to the first heat and pressure sealed region, thereby forming a composite seal that encapsulates the filter pad assembly within the housing.

    Abstract: A restraining device for use in securing a hand-cuffed prisoner consisting of a control strap gripped through a releasable cam buckle that is resiliently secured to the handcuffs. A selected amount of control strap is looped around the prisoner's ankles and led through the cam buckle to expose the control end which may be pulled to shorten the control strap connection between ankles and handcuffs, or the cam buckle can be actuated to release the control strap thereby to allow greater prisoner freedom and movement.
