  • Patent number: 4271718
Abstract: A brake cable operating lever is disclosed including a device for adjusting the cable tension which is produced when the operating lever is in the brake-on position, characterized in that the rotary tension adjusting screw (36) which extends axially of the operating lever includes intermediate its ends an annular collar portion (36a) that is rotatably supported by an abutment shoulder (20f) on the operating lever (20), whereby the apparatus remains operable even if the manual operating knob (38) were to be removed from the screw member. An internal friction producing device (40) is provided for restricting rotation of the screw member about its axis.

  • Patent number: 4131379
Abstract: A three-piece self-retaining conduit anchoring device is disclosed for connecting a co-axial cable assembly with a support structure, including an inner sleeve member, an outer sleeve member concentrically arranged about the inner sleeve member, and a collar member concentrically arranged about the outer sleeve member. One end of the collar member abuts one side of the support, the other end of the collar member being supported against axial displacement by flange portions at the corresponding ends of the inner and outer sleeve members. The outer sleeve member includes a plurality of circumferentially arranged external resilient prongs that engage the other side of the support, which outer sleeve member is connected against axial displacement relative to the inner sleeve and collar members. Consequently, the collar flange and the outer sleeve prongs grip opposite surfaces of the support structure to rigidly connect the anchoring device thereto.

  • Patent number: 4090731
Abstract: Heavy duty locking apparatus is disclosed for locking together a pair of relatively movable members, such as the tilt cab and chassis components of a motor vehicle, wherein a movable locking pin is employed for releasably connecting the blade and housing elements which are respectively secured to said relatively movable members. In one form of the invention, the locking pin is laterally projected into the corresponding opening in the blade element but does not pass completely through the opening. Also, in the one form, the opening or cavity in the housing element is of substantial size in order to present an enlarged target area for entry of the blade element during the locking operation. A second form of the invention is similar to the first form in the above respects and includes a modification of the blade element and the housing part to improve the supporting relationship between these elements during the locking operation.

  • Patent number: 4022509
Abstract: An improved actuator is disclosed for operating the locking pin of a tilt cab locking device to the released position against the biasing force of a spring that normally biases the locking pin toward a locked position relative to blade and blade housing members secured to the vehicle chassis and to the tilt cab, respectively. The invention is characterized in that the actuator includes a unitary housing having an outer tubular portion secured at one end to a rigid leg of the blade housing about the locking opening, a first transverse wall closing the other end of the outer tubular portion and containing a first opening, an inner tubular portion arranged in concentrically spaced relation within the outer tubular portion and secured at one end with said first transverse wall about said first opening, and a second transverse wall closing the other end of the inner tubular portion.
