Abstract: A speech enhancement system including an auditory stylus and optionally one or both of an earpiece and communication device. The auditory stylus, by itself and/or in cooperation with one or both of earpiece or communication device, provide users with multiple operating mode functions that can enhance the users' ability to understand speech and other sound. Embodiments may operate in one or more of an original speech mode, filtered speech mode, transcription mode or translation mode.
