Abstract: A system, comprising: a slot to accept an option card, wherein the slot includes: a connector to receive the option card; and guide rails to guide the option card into the slot, wherein at least one of the guide rails includes a latch and a button, wherein when the option card is not inserted into the slot and the button is: in a locked position, the latch prevents insertion of the option card into the slot; in an unlocked position, the latch allows insertion of the option card into the slot.

Abstract: A computer system comprising a plurality of electronic components disposed within a chassis. The electronic components generate a cooling load of at least 50 CFM at 2 inches of water or greater. An air mover is disposed within said chassis and is operable to generate airflow of at least 50 CFM at 2 inches of water or greater. An air distribution system is coupled to the air mover and is operable to distribute the airflow to the plurality of electronic components.

Abstract: By way of example, an embodiment of the present invention comprises an apparatus for use with a computer device. The apparatus includes a first portion configured to support a media device such that the media device is located on a first side of the first portion. The apparatus also includes a second portion located on a second side of the first portion and configured to at least partially secure the position of at least one computer component with respect to a connector coupled to the chassis.

Abstract: A system for cooling a heat-producing component in a computer system includes a conduit or plenum and a fan assembly. The fan assembly may be supported by the conduit. An air stream directing and acoustic shielding member is disposed in the conduit to prevent or reduce transmission of acoustic noise during operation of the fan assembly to a region outside the computer console. The shield member may be made of an open-cell foam or other sound deadening or reflecting material. A secondary conduit is provided for recirculating a portion of the internal air within the computer chassis. The internal air stream may be joined and mixed with the air stream from outside the chassis to provide both fresh air and recirculation cooling.
