  • Patent number: 11621563
Abstract: A method of controlling energy supply in an energy distribution network is disclosed. The energy distribution network comprises an energy generation facility adapted to supply energy to the energy distribution network and an energy consumer adapted to consume energy from the energy distribution network. The method comprises, at the energy generation facility: detecting a curtailment condition, the curtailment condition indicating that the energy generation facility should curtail its supply of energy to the energy distribution network; in response to the curtailment condition, transmitting, via a communications link, a request to increase energy consumption to the energy consumer; receiving a reply message from the energy consumer via the communications link; and controlling energy output from the generation facility in dependence on the reply message.

  • Publication number: 20180280111
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to apparatus and methods for improving visualization of biopsy site markers under ultrasound. In some implementations, the method for detecting a biopsy site marker in tissue may comprise inserting a biopsy site marker having a textured and/or irregular surface into the tissue, imaging the biopsy site marker using Doppler sonography, and identifying the marker based on twinkling artifact appearing on the Doppler sonography. In other implementations, the apparatus of the present disclosure may comprise a biopsy site marker for placement into human tissue, the marker having at least one textured or irregular surface capable of creating twinkling artifact when imaged using Doppler sonography.

  • Patent number: 8807060
Abstract: A mooring limb for damping the oscillations of a moored object comprising an axially extensible outer sheath, and an inner radially compressible core, the core being compressible radially by the sheath as the axial length of the limb increases, the limb being axially contractible as a result of a force provided by the core acting radially outward onto the sheath.

  • Patent number: 7586306
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for simultaneously conducting multiple steps of a cycle of a nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) experiment without the use of pulsed magnetic field gradients during signal detection in which one or more spatially selective radiofrequency pulses are applied to a sample under conditions effective to simultaneously spatially distribute the radiofrequency power associated with each of the cycle steps to a plurality of spatially discrete sections within the sample such that each section executes an individual step of the cycle and the resultant NMR signals from each of the cycle steps are produced simultaneously.

  • Publication number: 20070007959
Abstract: The present invention discloses a method of simultaneously conducting more than one step of a radiofrequency phase cycle in a nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) experiment. The method first involves providing a sample. Next, one or more radiofrequency pulses are applied to a plurality of spatially discrete slices of the sample under conditions effective to simultaneously conduct more than one step of a radiofrequency phase cycle in a single transient. Then, NMR signals generated from the step of applying the radiofrequency pulses are acquired. Finally, the NMR signals are processed to obtain an NMR spectrum.
