Publication number: 20240032943Abstract: A vascular bleeding control device that is used in managing bleeding at a puncture site, for example, after a surgical procedure when a large needle is required. The device has a resilient lever that extends away from a frame. The resilient lever extends away from the frame and resists pressure applied towards the frame. A pad on an outward face of the resilient lever contacts the puncture site and assists in managing bleeding until the blood vessel is sufficiently healed. The pad is manufactured of a hemostatic material that assists in decreasing healing time and can be easily removed from the puncture site without reopening the wound.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 28, 2021Publication date: February 1, 2024Inventors: Matthew B. DOWLING, David A. PARROTT, Justin MCCARTHY, Jesse DRAKE

Publication number: 20230126976Abstract: A plurality of inflatable pillows. Each pillow has at least one chamber. The chamber defines first and second edges oppositely disposed. Each pillow also has a valve providing fluid communication with the chamber for inflating and deflating the chamber. The first edge of one pillow is connect to a second edge of another pillow to form a continuous web. The pillows may form a continuous web and be dispensed from a device. Separation of the pillows one from another is enabled by perforations between edges of the pillows forming the web or tearing or cutting between edges of the pillows forming the web.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 25, 2022Publication date: April 27, 2023Inventors: Suzanne M. Publication number: 20230098564Abstract: A changing table comprising a strap-retraction slowing mechanism which allows for slower, more controlled security strap retraction so a child on a changing table is not injured by a fast-retracting strap. One embodiment of a security strap-retraction slowing mechanism comprises a mounting bracket, a strap reel assembly, a constant force spring, a first speed reduction gear, a second speed reduction gear, a rotary speed damper, wherein the damper is bi-directional so it damps the rotation in one direction and in the other direction it does not damp the rotation. One embodiment of a retractable security-strap system comprises a strap-retraction slowing mechanism housed in a cavity, a retractable strap, a strap end fitting, and a strap-securing means.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 30, 2022Publication date: March 30, 2023Inventors: Adia Gundry, Brittany Hizer, David Parrott, Ryan Lewis

Patent number: 10752427Abstract: The actuator includes a shroud adapted to be situated on an aerosol container over the stem and an actuation member mounted on and moveable within the shroud to depress the stem by the application of an external force applied to the top surface of the actuation member. The actuation member includes a nozzle and a conduit for connecting the stem and the nozzle. A hood is normally positioned to block the actuation member from being moved to depress the stem. A locking member normally intersects the path of movement of the hood to lock the hood in its blocking position. The locking member has two sections both of which must be simultaneously moved to a position remote from the path of hood movement such that the hood may be moved from its blocking position, allowing the actuation member to be moved to depress the stem.Type: GrantFiled: December 21, 2018Date of Patent: August 25, 2020Assignee: WD-40 COMPANYInventors: Michael J. Publication number: 20190240416Abstract: A syringe containing a high water content product and for use in a drug infusion system is provided. The syringe includes a plunger carrying front and rear o-rings made of a diene rubber compound such as chlorobutyl rubber or bromobutyl rubber to impart very low gas permeability characteristics to the o-rings. The plunger may be molded as a single part or in two parts. If molded as one part with radially-engaging mold portions, the seal glands in the plunger may include parting lines from the mold. If molded as two parts with axially-engaging mold portions, the front seal gland may include a sealing surface and under cut that has no parting line. The orings may be surface treated with a lubricant to improve sealing where the molding process gives rise to parting lines in the seal glands.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 4, 2019Publication date: August 8, 2019Inventors: MARTIN J. Patent number: 9757551Abstract: An applicator assembly may include a body having a proximal end portion and a distal end portion, an actuator operatively coupled to the body, a container disposed within the body, an application member attached to the distal end portion, and a valve disposed between the container and the application member. Actuation of the actuator opens the valve and places the interior of the container in fluid communication with the application member by way of a compressive force applied to the body. A method of applying a solution to a surface may include actuating the actuator, wherein actuation of the actuator applies a compressive force to the body that opens the valve and places the interior of the container in fluid communication with the application member, and contacting the application member to the surface, thereby applying the solution to the surface.Type: GrantFiled: October 4, 2013Date of Patent: September 12, 2017Assignee: CAREFUSION 2200, INC.Inventors: Satish Degala, Kenneth Bruce Thurmond, II, Kenneth Michael Dokken, Aishwarya Vaidyanathan, Angel Magallon, David A. Patent number: 9050850Abstract: A micro motion poppet valve for a writing instrument provides delivery of ink with large pigment particles to a porous writing nib with minimal nib movement and relatively light actuation forces. The micro motion poppet valve includes a nib connected to a valve stem, the valve stem being connected to a valve plug. A valve body is integrally formed with a biasing element, which biases the valve stem towards a closed position. When a user presses the nib against a writing surface the valve plug moves away from a raised valve seat located on the biasing element to allow ink to flow from an ink reservoir to the nib.Type: GrantFiled: December 30, 2011Date of Patent: June 9, 2015Assignee: SANFORD, L.P.Inventors: Christoph Gillum, Christopher Matice, David Parrott, Anup Paul, Haskell Simpkins, Robert G.
