  • Publication number: 20240115810
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to medicament injection devices. An injection device includes: a movable dosage programming component comprising a rotary encoder system having a predefined angular periodicity, a sensor arrangement including a first optical sensor configured to detect movement of the movable dosage programming component relative to the sensor arrangement during dosing of a medicament, wherein the first optical sensor is configured to operate in a strobe-sampling mode at a first frequency, a second optical sensor configured to detect movement of the rotary encoder system relative to the second optical sensor wherein the second optical sensor is configured to operate in a strobe-sampling mode at a second frequency lower than the first frequency, and a processor arrangement configured to, based on the detected movement, determine a medicament dosage administered by the injection device.

  • Patent number: 6488651
Abstract: A syringe (10) includes a tube (12) defining a chamber (16) with a dispensing opening (18). A plunger (20) is slidably mounted in the tube and is initially positioned at the end (24) of the chamber opposite the dispensing opening. A dasher (26) having an opening (34) is positioned within the chamber at an intermediate point. A cylindrical barrier (40) is detachably secured to the dasher (26). Thus, with the barrier secured to the dasher, the barrier and dasher sealingly engages the tube dividing it into two subchambers (44, 46). An elongated rod (52) extends through openings (54, 56) in the plunger and the barrier and is secured to the dasher. Rotation of the rod detaches the barrier from the dasher establishing communication between the subchambers. A locking sleeve (62) frictionally secures the rod and the plunger together when the rod is moved to a retracted position (FIG. 4). Furthermore, optionally the rod is hollow (FIG. 9) and defines a third subchamber (80) containing a third liquid.

  • Patent number: 5680967
Abstract: A dispensing cartridge is provided for viscous liquids, such as sealants. The cartridge includes an elongated tubular cylindrical housing defining an elongated interior chamber having a cylindrical interior wall. A dispensing nozzle is formed at one end of the housing and this dispensing nozzle has an opening open to the housing chamber which is less in cross-sectional size than the cross-sectional size of the housing chamber. A substantially semi-spherical wall portion extends between the cylindrical wall of the housing and the nozzle opening while at least one reinforcing rib extends outwardly from an outer surface of the semi-spherical wall portion. This reinforcing rib not only reinforces the semi-spherical wall portion of the housing but also enables the cartridge to be used in a standard caulking gun.
