  • Patent number: 11102333
Abstract: A hearing system comprising a hearing device and a connected device, wherein the hearing device comprises a microphone; a processor for processing a signal from the microphone; an output device for outputting the processed signal to an ear of the user; a memory for storing program code modules to be processed by the processor; and a transceiver for exchanging data with the connected device. In the memory of the hearing device a first set of program code modules and in the memory of the connected device a second set of program code modules different from the first set is stored. A program code module of the second set of program code modules is transferred from the connected device to the hearing device upon request from the hearing device or the connected device.

  • Patent number: 10681459
Abstract: Systems and methods for hearing devices with artifact mitigation. Some embodiments schedule, reschedule, or trigger, activities of a hearing device at points in time in order to achieve an artifact-free (or artifact-reduced) user experience. For example, some embodiments provide a method for scheduling reconfigurations of a hearing device to reduce an impact of resulting artifacts on a user experience. The method can include detecting a reconfiguration of operating characteristics (e.g., hardware or software) of a hearing device that will produce an artifact. Then, a masking event can be identified that can disguise the artifact produced by the reconfiguration of the operating characteristics. For example, the masking event can be an audio event from an audio signal received from a source external to the hearing device or a system notification generated by the hearing device. The reconfiguration can be scheduled or triggered so that the artifact is produced during the masking event.

  • Patent number: 9710419
Abstract: A data transmission system for use in hearing devices includes a master unit with a first local bit clock and a slave unit with a second local bit clock. The master unit and the slave unit are connected to each other via a bus line, and are configured to communicate over the bus line according to a communication protocol based on a frame-wise serial transmission of bits. Each frame includes a clock reference, a master signalling interval, a slave signalling interval and a data payload. The slave unit further includes a clock recovery device for synchronizing the second local bit clock with the first local bit clock based on the clock reference transmitted once per frame by the master unit. A corresponding method for data transmission is also provided. Moreover, hearing devices including such a data transmission system as well as uses of such a method for data transmission are proposed.

  • Publication number: 20160127842
Abstract: A method for operating a hearing system with at least a first device and a second device. The method includes the steps of booting of the first device, sending a state query from the first device to the second device, sending a state response from the second device to the first device, the state response including information regarding an operational state of the second device, and adjusting the operational state of the first device dependent on the state response. A device can be employed to perform such a method as part of the hearing system. The hearing system can for instance be a binaural hearing system, a CROS system or a system including a hearing device and a fitting device for adjusting the hearing device to the individual requirements of the hearing device user.

  • Patent number: 7418268
Abstract: Method for finding members of a common interest group with a mobile device (1), in which at least one database (50) is built, in which a plurality of interest groups are stored. These interest groups contain mobile radio network users; the database (50) is filed in at least one server (5), accessible from within a radio network (3). Each time a member is located in the vicinity of another member of a common interest group, he is automatically sent a message.
