  • Patent number: 12180250
Abstract: Methods of producing multiple protein products from blood-based materials including alpha-1-proteinase inhibitor, gamma globulin, albumin, and other proteins are described herein. The inventive methods include steps of: salt fractionation, chromatography, ultrafiltration, diafiltration, solvent-detergent treatment, and sterile filtration. Advantageously, the inventive methods are simple and produce alpha-1-proteinase inhibitor, gamma globulin, albumin, and other proteins in high yields. The sequence of process steps can be selected to obtain multiple products from various in-process materials, such as supernatants, pastes, chromatography flow-though, and chromatography washes.

  • Publication number: 20240342009
Abstract: Disclosed herein are embodiments of a wound treatment apparatus with electronic components integrated within a wound dressing. In some embodiments, a wound dressing apparatus can comprise a wound contact layer, an absorbent layer over the wound contact layer, the absorbent layer comprising one or more apertures, a cover layer configured to cover and form a seal over the wound contact layer and the absorbent layer, and an electronics assembly comprising a negative pressure source. A portion of the cover layer overlying the one or more apertures in the absorbent layer can be configured to be compressed within the aperture in the absorbent layer when negative pressure is applied to the wound dressing apparatus. The compressed cover layer can indicate a level of negative pressure below the cover layer. In some embodiments, the wound dressing apparatus can comprise an indicator material layer and a cover layer configured to cover and form a seal over the wound contact layer and the indicator material layer.

  • Patent number: 12115379
Abstract: In embodiments, a wearable medical system (WMS) for an ambulatory patient, which can be a wearable cardioverter defibrillator (WCD) system, analyzes the patient's ECG signal to generate a detection outcome. The WMS also has an ambulatory user interface that outputs a human-visible indication. A programming device, such as a PC, a tablet, etc., establishes a communication link with the WMS during an in-person session with the patient. The programming device may include a programming screen that reproduces the human-visible indication in real time. An advantage can be that the person programming the WMS need not strain to look also at the ambulatory user interface at the time they are looking at the programming device. Another advantage can be that the patient will recognize that he or she is better protected, and have their confidence in the WMS increased, and therefore better comply with wearing the WMS as required.

  • Publication number: 20240327898
Abstract: Methods, devices and kits for sampling, releasing and stabilizing nucleic acid, including RNA and DNA, from virus, bacteria yeast and other cells is described. The released and stabilized nucleic acid may be analyzed and quantified without further sample preparation at the point of care or may be transported to a testing laboratory by shipment and analyzed directly. The nucleic acid, which can be RNA, remains safe and stable so that shipping by normal means including government postal service may be used. In addition, the RNA sample remains stable so that analysis can be performed immediately after receipt of sample or after storage for days, weeks or months. Storage may be at room or ambient temperature or cooler temperatures. The sampling apparatus used to acquire samples can interface with nucleic detection and measurement instrumentation including high throughput, parallel processing instruments.

  • Patent number: 11983703
Abstract: Disclosed is a method and system, in FIG. 1, for verifying authenticity of specific personal data responsive to a unique wallet address (70) on a public ledger (66) of an unregulated platform (60). The wallet contains one or more non-transferable NFTs each locked to the wallet and related to specific personal data. The non-transferable NFT was minted from a regulated platform (27) to which there is a record (76) in the public ledger. Supplying the unique address of the wallet to a service supplier affects a log-in of a client (18) to the service supplier (90), whereafter message interactions over a network (12) between the service supplier and the unregulated platform (60) permits searching for a relevant (72) non-transferable NFTs (74) stored in the wallet and related to the specific personal data. Return of any relevant non-transferable NFT related to the personal data thus verifies authenticity of the specific personal data by association with a regulated platform.
