    Abstract: A tool adapter for loosening, tightening or freeing a locked nut or bolt, includes a housing, a top gear, and a pair of oppositely disposed spaced-apart side gears, which are secured rotatably to the housing. A locking mechanism causes the top gear and the side gears to become interlocked in a stationary position with the housing. A spacer is disposed inside the housing, for retaining rotatably the top gear and the side gears in position inside the housing.
