  • Publication number: 20050268337
Abstract: Methods, systems, and products are disclosed for detecting an intrusion to a communications network. One embodiment describes a system for detecting intrusions. The system has a peripheral card coupled to a host computer system. The peripheral card has a communications portion and a processor managing the communications portion. The communications portion has only a capability for receiving data packets via a communications network. The communications portion lacks capability of transmitting the data packets via the communications network. The communications portion of the peripheral card reduces intrusion of the communications network.

  • Publication number: 20050235913
Abstract: Aspects of the invention are directed to systems and methods for dispensing materials onto a substrate. In one aspect, a dispensing system includes a dispenser having a dispensing outlet positionable over a top surface of the substrate, the dispenser having a substantially vertical dispensing axis along which material from the dispenser is dispensed, and a vision system, coupled to the dispenser, the vision system being positionable to obtain images of the top surface of the substrate along an optical axis, wherein the vision system is constructed and arranged such that the optical axis intersects the dispensing axis.

  • Publication number: 20050169514
Abstract: A method of analyzing an image of a substance deposited onto a substrate, the image comprising a plurality of pixels, includes defining a region of interest in the image, associating the region of interest with first and second perpendicular axis, wherein a set of pixels in the image lie along the first axis, converting the pixels in the region of interest to a single dimensional array aligned with the first axis and projecting along the second axis, and applying at least one threshold to the single dimensional array, the threshold based at least in part on a predetermined limit.

  • Publication number: 20050135636
Abstract: An audio system for use in a passenger compartment of a vehicle. The system includes a front-driver side speaker unit and a front-passenger side speaker unit to cooperatively emit audio sound to the passenger compartment. The driver-side speaker unit includes a primary speaker and a secondary speaker to produce sound in cooperation with a primary speaker and a secondary speaker of the passenger-side speaker unit. An audio control system is configured to compensate for unbalancing of stereo images at front-driver/passenger positions by controlling output from the secondary speakers based on output from the primary speakers.

  • Publication number: 20050135635
Abstract: A method is provided for controlling a dynamic range of audio reproduction in an interior of a vehicle. An input audio signal is received by an audio processor. The input audio signal is split into a first and a second processing path. The input audio signal of the second processing path is compressed. A noise-related parameter of the vehicle is characterized. A gain control is applied to the compressed audio signal of the second processing path in response to the noise-related parameter. The compressed and uncompressed audio signals are synchronously recombined. The combined audio signal is reproduced to the interior of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 6767521
Abstract: A system for dehumidifying and deodorizing, the system comprising a hanging, dehumidifying and deodorizing pouch comprising a housing having a impermeable membrane and a semi-permeable securely attached to the impermeable membrane. The housing enclosing moisture-absorbent material and deodorizing material. The housing is enclosed within a jacket comprising a perforated contiguous wall; the wall defines an opening for receiving the housing. The jacket further comprises a closing member for closing the opening when the housing is within the jacket. The jacket can comprise a rigid, rectangular cage having a detachable lid. The semi-permeable membrane of the housing can comprise polyethylene or expanded polytetrafluoroethylene, individually or a combination thereof. The impermeable can comprise either polyethylene film or polypropylene film. The moisture-absorbent material can comprise a hygroscopic, deliquescent or a combination of a hygroscopic deliquescent and a gel forming polymer.

  • Patent number: 5907908
Abstract: A dehumidifying pouch comprising a container having a moisture-absorption compartment and a collection compartment, the moisture-absorption compartment comprising semi-permeable material that encloses a deliquescent desiccant material and an optional deodorizing material. The collection compartment comprises walls made of a moisture impervious material. The collection compartment is connected to the moisture-absorption compartment, preferably by a broken seal, so that liquids from the moisture-absorption compartment can be transferred to the collection compartment of the pouch. The semi-permeable material can comprise polyethylene or expanded polytetrafluoroethylene, individually or a combination thereof. The moisture impervious compartment can comprise either polyethylene film or polypropylene film. Alternatively, the dehumidifying pouch is comprised of one compartment having a moisture-absorption section and a moisture collection section.
