  • Publication number: 20170086051
Abstract: An anomaly detection system is provided in connection with a transport service. The anomaly detection system can construct routine route profiles for individual users of the transport service using historical route data. The anomaly detection system can monitor a current route traveled by a user. The anomaly detection system can further identify a matching routine route profile of the respective user. The anomaly detection system can utilize the matching routine route profile to identify a probable anomaly in the current route. In response to detecting the probable anomaly, the anomaly detection system can enable a safety protocol to perform a number of actions.

  • Publication number: 20170070414
Abstract: An event analysis system receives events in a time-series from a set of monitored systems and identifies a set of alert threshold values for each of the types of events to identify outliers in the time-series at an evaluated time. Portions of historic event data is selected to identify windows of event data near the evaluated time at a set of seasonally-adjusted times to predict the value of the event type. The alert threshold value may also account for a prediction based on recent, higher-frequency events. Using the alert threshold values for a plurality of event types, the event data is compared with the alert threshold values to determine an alert level for the data. The event data types are also clustered and displayed with the alert levels to provide a visualization of the event data and identify outliers when the new event data is received.

  • Publication number: 20170039890
Abstract: Trip is analyzed from a population of drivers in order to determine one or more indicators of one or more driving styles. The trip data may include sensor information obtained from one or more sensor devices which are present in a vehicle of each driver of the population. A driving style is determined for the driver during a monitored trip by analyzing sensor information obtained from one or more sensor devices of the driver during the trip for at least one of the indicators of the one or more driving styles.

  • Patent number: 8397656
Abstract: A method of towing a craft having a fore rudder and rear rudder using a towing vehicle with the fore rudder and rear rudder initially oriented parallel to the length of the craft such that the craft follows directly behind the towing vehicle. The fore rudder is rotated to a position less than 90 degrees off parallel to the length of the craft. The rear rudder is rotated in an opposite direction to the fore rudder and to a position less than 90 degrees off parallel to the length of the craft, causing the craft to move off to the side of the track of the towing vehicle while the craft maintains movement substantially parallel to the towing vehicle, producing an of offset tow.

  • Patent number: 7349501
Abstract: A method and apparatus for automatic gain control of a receiver provides compensation of gain control operations for received signal disruptions. In one embodiment, an automatic gain control circuit remembers control state information from a time just before a given disruption, and uses it to reset the automatic gain control circuit at the end of the disruption, or to maintain the automatic gain control circuit during the disruption. The remembering function may be triggered, such by detecting an impending disruption, or done periodically at a high enough update rate that the remembered information is always current with respect to any given disruption. Thus, an exemplary automatic gain control circuit may generate a receiver gain control signal by filtering received signal power measurements, and compensate the generation of that gain control signal by capturing filter state information just prior to signal disruptions. Compensation may comprise resetting or freezing the filter.

  • Publication number: 20070251852
Abstract: A convenient package containing multiple prescription medications in pill form is provided herein. The package has the medication arranged in a convenient format for ease of patient use. In one embodiment, the package comprises a lower tray having receptacles for the two medications arranged in a predetermined divided pattern. In another embodiment, for each medication, the prescribed number of pills per day may be grouped together and the total medication divided into a period of use (e.g., days). The lower tray is generally covered by a thin film that may be broken through by the patient when access to a particular pill is desired. The package may be perforated to allow used portions to be separated from the unused portion and discarded. The package allows for a single prescription to be written covering at least two separate medications laid out in a single package.

  • Patent number: 7238290
Abstract: Transition metal ions have the ability to increase the oxidation performance of the inorganic peroxy salts at room temperature by possibly lowering their activation energy or by producing more reactive free radicals. When two transition metal salts are used together to decompose dipersulfate, it provides synergistic oxidation activity, better than obtained by dipersulfate or dipersulfate with either copper or zinc alone. The transition metals mentioned are the water soluble salts of copper and zinc. Oxidation performance of sodium dipersulface in presence of catalytic amount of copper and zinc salts was determined by measuring the destruction of crystal violet dye at a wavelength of 589 nm.

  • Publication number: 20070108977
Abstract: A method and apparatus for magnetic resonance (MR) imaging of a moving object, and in particular MR imaging by retrospectively selecting and sorting the MR data acquired with the known prior positions of an orthopedic joint. A mechanical apparatus limits the motion of the joint while an optical or electronic apparatus determines the instantaneous articulation position of the joint, for example its rotational angle. Either partial or complete MR data are acquired asynchronously with respect to various positions of joint movement, and the MR data are then retrospectively selected and sorted to form images of the joint at the various articulated positions. This retrospective selecting and sorting allows sharp images to be acquired using MR data acquired over several flexions and extensions of the joint, regardless of the periodicity or velocity of its motion.

  • Publication number: 20070001674
Abstract: A method and apparatus for magnetic resonance (MR) imaging of a moving object, wherein motion data are acquired about movement of the object in multiple dimensions during a “pre-scan” of the object, prior to the acquisition of image data during a succeeding “imaging scan” of the object. Because motions of the object in one dimension are to some degree correlated with object motions in other dimensions, in accordance with the invention, the pre-scan multi-dimensional motion data are used to develop algorithms that relate the motion data of the object in a first dimension to the motion data of the object in a second or third dimension. Thus, during the subsequent acquisition of the image data during the imaging scan, it is only necessary to measure the object motion in one dimension, which measured data are then used in order to estimate object movement in the other one or two dimensions using the algorithms developed from the pre-scan motion data.

  • Publication number: 20060241378
Abstract: A method and apparatus for visualizing an interventional device in a body using a magnetic resonance (MR) imager. In operation an MR pulse sequence is applied to the body so as to develop MR signals, which are processed so as to acquire one or more images. An operator of the imager uses a hands-free device to control parameters of the applied pulse sequence so as to cause the images to show an intensity distortion artifact in the area of the interventional device that is increased as compared to intensity distortion artifact in conventional MR images; and, after an image distortion which is expected to be produced by the interventional device is seen, the operator changes the applied pulse sequence parameters, in a “hands-free” manner, so that said one or more acquired images show an intensity distortion artifact in the area of the interventional device that is reduced as compared to said increased intensity distortion.

  • Publication number: 20020158693
Abstract: An oscillating circuit (10) includes a quartz crystal oscillator (12) for generating a clock signal (20). The clock signal is synchronized to a master signal (19) during the lock-in periods when the oscillating circuit (10) has access to the master signal (19). During the holdover periods when the oscillating circuit (10) loses access to the master signal (19), an oscillation frequency function predicts the crystal oscillation frequency in terms the physical parameters, e.g., time and temperature, that may affect the crystal oscillation frequency. The predicted frequency is compared with a standard frequency to generate an error signal. In response to the error signal, a fraction handler block (28) determines whether adding cycles to or deleting cycles from the clock signal, thereby calibrating the oscillation signal (13) of the oscillating circuit (10).
