  • Publication number: 20070019313
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of producing an optical filter, characterized in that it comprises effecting the following steps on an optical waveguide (10): controlling the varying interior profile of the waveguide, preferably by melt-drawing, and writing a Bragg grating (20), using techniques allowing independent control of longitudinal variation of the Bragg wavelength and longitudinal variation of the exterior profile of the waveguide.

  • Publication number: 20040047553
Abstract: The invention concerns an injection device for optical fibre characterised in that it comprises a main fibre (100), and an auxiliary fibre (200) whereof the beveled end (210) is placed on the edge of the main fibre (10), wherein the auxiliary fibre (200) has a numerical aperture smaller than the numerical aperture of the main fibre (100). The invention also concerns a method for preparing the device.

  • Publication number: 20030190167
Abstract: The present invention provides a regenerator device for wavelength division multiplexed optical signals designed to regenerate the N channels of a multiplex simultaneously, the device being characterized in that it comprises at least one regenerator component (112, 152) suitable for coupling the inlet signal with a multiplex of N optical carriers, the regenerator component (112, 152) being constituted by a material presenting a spectrum line with non-uniform broadening so that there is no interaction between the various channels involved within the component.

  • Publication number: 20030059527
Abstract: The invention concerns a method for restoring the coating of a previously stripped optical fibre, characterised in that it comprises steps which consist in: applying a drop of viscous substance on one end of the fibre (10) stripped zone, at the interface (22) with the remaining initial coating (20), and shaping said drop into a mass (30) centre on the fibre (10) axis, tapering away from the adjacent initial coating (20), before filling up the fibre stripped space with a mass of substance capable of sheathing said fibre (10) again.

  • Patent number: 6516118
Abstract: An optical fiber for producing energy-dissipative and wavelength—selective filters is presented. The fiber includes a core and a cladding that are photosensitive to radiation and have a periodic perturbation of the refractive index. The periodic perturbation defines at least one Bragg grating with lines tilted with respect to the axis of the fiber. The refractive index difference between the core and the cladding is less than 3×10−3.
