  • Publication number: 20210262077
Abstract: High-performance optical-metasurface-based platform configured with the use of Tantalum Pentoxide to operate with extremely low levels of loss at frequencies of UV light and, in particular, in mid- and near-UV ranges and performing multiple optical-wavefront-shaping functions (among which there are high-numerical-aperture lensing, accelerating beam generation, and hologram projection). Process of fabrication of such metasurface producing near-zero levels of optical loss and employing the otherwise standard etching methodologies. Embodiments facilitate the development of low-form-factor, multifunctional ultraviolet nanophotonic platforms based on flat optical components and enabling diverse applications including lithography, imaging, spectroscopy, and quantum information processing.

  • Publication number: 20170341849
Abstract: A container for a pressurized dispensing system. The container includes a plastic bottle and a base cup bonded to a rounded bottom of the plastic bottle with a hot melt adhesive. The base cup has a bottom surface that allows the container to stand upright. A method of forming the container is also provided wherein hot melt adhesive is deposited in a recessed region in a top wall of a pedestal of the base cup, and a center region of the rounded bottom of the plastic bottle is pressed against the hot melt adhesive such that the adhesive spreads out over the recessed region and the rest of the top wall of the pedestal. After the hot melt adhesive cools, the bottle is securely bonded to the base cup.

  • Patent number: 8746505
Abstract: A multi-sensory product able to disperse chemical actives using reeds or other wicks, as well as providing a light show is disclosed. The product includes a form-within-a-form design wherein the inner form or vase is able to store the chemical actives, as well as mount the reeds or other wicks. The outer vase complements the aesthetics of the inner vase while at the same time concealing the electronics of the device. The electronics of the device can include a power source, as well as a circuit board for driving LEDs mounted thereon. The LEDs can generate a light show which can be refracted and diffused through the glass or polymer material forming the inner and outer vases thereby creating an aesthetically pleasing and multi-sensory experience through the use of the product.

  • Patent number: 7726860
Abstract: A light apparatus includes one or more light pipes and/or diffusers to transfer and/or diffuse light from a few point light sources to a broader area and to other points. A hollow light pipe includes a light transmissive sidewall that encompasses an interior space, which receives and hides control circuitry for the light sources therein. A bottom end surface of the hollow light pipe is disposed adjacent to one or more light sources and transmits the light therefrom over a relatively large, uniform area. A solid core light pipe has a light receiving end and a light dispersion end having a reflective facet therein. The reflective facet includes a depression forming a reflective surface angularly displaced from a longitudinal axis of the solid core light pipe.
